| YOUR favourite comeback in MMA?
Been thinking about it recently, and sure enough I saw it on Sherdog this morning lol.
Im sure it varies between people, some people might like a methodical comeback ala Edgar/Maynard 2, some might like the explosive KOs like Kongo/Barry.
Whats YOUR favourite comeback in MMA history?
My vote goes to Smith/Sell. Its the definition of One-Punch Power imo. Sell lands a huge fight ending punch to the body. Sell come charging in with his chin up and BOOM, One Punch finish. Gotta love it.
The reason I rank/like this comeback better then similiar ones like Barry/Kongo, Is because I really feel like if Sell didnt run in for the kill the fight would still be over. Smith was fucked, as well was Kongo. But if Barry would have let him recover, Kongo would have.
I think Smith litterally couldnt recover, and still won. Loved it. Now with that said, it was very close between all of them, I love all crazy comebacks.
(Poll didnt work for some reason but these are what I was thinking for good canidates)
Anderson/Sonnen
Brock/Carwin
Barry/Kongo
Smith/Sell
Edgar/Maynard 2
Hughes/Trigg 2
Russow/Duffee
Nog/Sylvia
(Add in Sakuraba/Galesic, Leben/Akiyama and Gracie/Severn and theres an easy top 10 somewheres in there lol.)

Hughes over Trigg for me. The dramatic effect of hoisting him and running across the cage and slamming him was crazy

edgar-maynard went to a draw, should that be counted? He got hit a lot in the first, then did what he had to, to squeak out the rest of the fight.

I've got to go with Hughes vs Trigg II. I'm still amazed every time I see that by the way I thought Hughes was just about to be finished only to see him come out of nowhere to pickup Trigg and drag him across the cage for a good old-fashioned ass-whoopin.
That was one of the fights that really stick out in my mind from when I was first getting into MMA.
I'd say the runner up would have to be Smith vs Sell for the spectacular, almost Rocky style finish.

I just never looked at is as "he squeaked by and did what he had to do".
I looked at it as, (in the first round) if he would have stopped fighting just for a split second it could have been over. But he didnt, he kept fighting through all the adversity and ended up winning more rounds across all the judges scorecards.
Thats gotta count for something lol, Id call it a "comeback". Imo.
But I wont lie its one of my favourite fights and Im a pretty big Edgar fan. So take my opinion for whats its worth lol.
Top 5 favourite comebacks:
Smith/Sell
Silva/Sonnen
Hughes/Trigg 2
Edgar/Maynard 2
Barry/Kongo
Im SURE im missing some.

Nog/Sylvia for me. mike goldberg was already discussing the possibility of sylvia/mir during the fight and then nog pulled off a really cool ground combo into the sub. i'm still amazed when i see the fight and nog just does whatever he wants to on the ground and sylvia had nothing.
close behind is lesnar/carwin and smith/sell

As much as I don't like either fighter much, Anderson took a straight beating for 24 mins before turning it around. Whether or not he took a bunch of damage is debatable, but this fight was so lopsided for such a long amount of time, I have to give it the number one spot.

Smith/Sell was pretty effin great. Also Leben/Akiyama was tops in my book. But how bout that fight between Smith and Cung Le the first one. Scott smith was getting his ass whipped pretty bad before he put Le to sleep.
