I think you and I might finally agree on something. Machida is one of the best fighters in the LHW division and it seems like Dana simply lost interest. Personally I hope he makes his way back to the title and shows everyone what he can do. The loss to Rampage was Bullshit and no one seemed to care.

But because he's considered to be a boring fighter by most, he's over looked. Dana White and Joe Silva seem to have something against him as well (likely the "boring" thing).

Some of us actually do care to find out who the best in each division is, regardless of how exciting the fight is or isn't (that's why there is more than 1 fight on a card). So having the #2 ranked fighter not being given a title rematch, is insane (IMO). Realistically, how many more fights does he have to win to get another shot at the title? Where a guy like BJ Penn gets put into two #1 contender fights in a row, after losing 2 LW fights in a row, wins 1 fight, and then draws in his last. Just doesn't seem logical to me. Name recognition should absolutely stand for something, but wins over quality opponents should trump that (again, IMO).

Yeah I'd like to see Fitch get used against top contenders a bit more. He should be getting matches with Diaz, Shields etc...

Problem with Fitch though is how do you use him in the long run he hasn't anything new that makes most people think he presents a challenge to GSP in the long run. Even if he's the most deserving of a title shot it may not make much sense when you can put someone else in there instead. The not wanting to fight Kos thing has hurt him as well he may have got a title shot this year had he been willing.

mac, good call.. and i agree. def help with bellator's transition to spike..
my issue is eddie's inactivity. after a great fight with pat curran and his complete destruction of roger huerta, i really just wanted to see alvarez fight some of the bigger names in the top 10.

i just think he doesn't fight often enough for as exciting as he is. that article kick ass posted shed a lot of light though and i can respect alvarez and his decisions... i got kids to feed too so i understand how that changes everything.
