It's a norm. You see the worst in americans at these UFC shows. I don't know if it's the alcohol or what, but I've never seen it so frequently at any other event, be it boxing or wrestling. Seems the UFC is attracting mainstream and big box office but is also attracting the riff raff and overall trash of America.

Just because you're not poor doesn't mean you're not white trash. Also, hating dumbass nationalist zombies doesn't equate to hating America. Hating America is no more or less of an offense than hating any other country. Seriously. People who make nationality an issue are just dumbasses. You're placing blind loyalty in imaginary lines that divide the world up into a bunch of different pieces. Nationality is a distraction from real issues. We're all humans and that should matter a lot more that which country someone was born in.

Anywhere you go booing will occur but not to the level of the UFC because they boo anything non American which creates conflict. Boo Leben because he sucks, boo Sylvia becasue he takes up 25 minutes of PPV time on your $300-$700 ticket, but don't boo St. Pierre because he is Canadian and don;t boo Anderson Silva because he is Brazilian because they are both phenomenal fighters.
Boo Giant Silva because he sucks and NOT because he is Brazilian.
Point is, you shouldn't boo someone because of their nationality but if these events took place in another country, take the UK for example, they would be booing the American fighters as well.
IMO it's the nature of the beast, MMA attracts a rowdy crowd (the casual fans) and they are going to boo because it is in their trashy nature to do so.

I can't help but see some of these views as hypocritical. Some are saying to boo fighters because they arent as good or as technically sound as other fighters. So anotherwards the majority of ppl boo Tim Sylvia because they do not think he is as well rounded or as popular as say GSP, Fedor, Liddell, BJ Penn, Hughes, etc or whoever. But if I understand this correctly, it is ok to boo fighters if you do not like how they fight but it is not ok to boo them because they are not based out of your home country??? If you really think about it they are both wrong. Those fighters arent pro mma athletes for no reason and they should all deserve respect. I guess some fans arent up to date with MMA and there are a lot of newer fans. So natural instinct for a new fan a lot of times would be to cheer for the fighter who has the flag of their country. I mean I dont like Tim Sylvia but I'm just making a point that there really is no "proper" way to boo. There are alwasy going to be athletes that are more cheered for and those who are less cheered for in any sport, its reality folks.

its not that they are drunk, its that they are idiots and use our sport as a method to see someone get knocked out.
