Just had a chance to catch up on this fight, and wow what a war. Alvarez didn't impress me as much as he usually does, maybe he was underestimating Chandler, even after getting rocked twice in the first. Chandler is one hell of an athletic and well-conditioned dude, the way he recovered from looking like he had his gas task emptied at the end of the 3rd, to having a spring back in his step at the start by the time the 4th round began was impressive, especially when we consider how much those guys had been swinging for the 15minutes leading up to that point.
I don't think I could say whether I thought Hendo/Shogun or Alvarez/Chandler was a better fight, as they were extremely different. Sure they both had big shifts in momentum, but the drama in the Shogun fight was the desperation felt by Rua to get the finish in the 4th or 5th, as he knew he was losing on points. What an awesome night.
