should UFC have an open weight tourney once a year like pride? I say yes because it will bring alot more fighters to UFC and i would love to seem some guys out of there weight class. Plus dana can still have his poster boys fight and not lose there title in the tourney. it will bring back the old days. |
Pride doesn't have have an OW Tourney once a year. Dana doesn't like tourneys anyway from what he says in his interviews. I don't think the State Athletic Commissions would allow open weight fights in the US either. |
The answer to the poll question would be "yes", but I came here to say pretty much the same thing NinjaShogunRua said. |
i ment a tourney like pride not open weight, my bad. But i was thinking of prides open weight this year though and the old school UFC days, but not all in one night. Do it like pride does and just have events like bushido in pride |
sumo negros yes, what UFC needs is more overweight Sumo Negros with diapers from Japan. |

A LW tourney would be a great way to find a new champion for the division. Dana said he didn't really like tourneys though, because in the last one the finals ended in a draw, so they didn't end up naming a champion anyway. |

I know the last LW tourny final between Penn & Uno ended in a draw, but that was like 3 years ago or something. Why wasn't a rematch scheduled? Again I know Dana is no fan of them, but he should do what's right for UFC fans & the UFC not what's right for Dana White. With regards to an annual GP, why not? Held over three dates a la Pride it would be a better prospect than the UFN's that they show, which IMO is UFC-light. |
I think a tourney would be a sweet way to find number one contenders or champs will it happen...probably unlikely..dana is to stuborn |
