I am Canadian, and I wasn't offended, nor am I when the Canadian national anthem is boo'd at sporting events in the States.....99% of it is harmless fun......IMO | yeah ,but at ball games in Canada when the American national anthem is played they're respectable.I'm for it and against it.Show your patriotism chant USA,USA ,but at the same time show respect to the other Countries. Don't boo a guy like GSP when he just put on a hell of a performance.

Our culture is 100 times different, anyone who watches a UFC or PRIDE event can tell the difference in the respect fans have for the sport. As you pointed out, it's the same in baseball. I used to live in Baltimore, the entire house yells "ORIOLES" or some shit during one part our own national anthem. Stupid example, but you get my point. American fans, half of which at sporting events are drunk as shit simply don't care about respecting other countries. We go from being patriotic to plain out pro-America and anti-anyone else. It's just the way it is, of course I think it's stupid but with our freedom of speech and the way our culture and society is, it's no surprise when fans do dumb shit like that. It's never gonna change, not in our lifetimes.
Basically, case in point even though it's something I just said above: We go from being patriotic to plain out pro-America and anti-anyone else |

I agree with the cheering but showing respect angle.
The only real reason I posted was to ask this, when people hear the USA USA USA chant, is it just me or do you immediately think of Hacksaw Jim Duggan? I know most of you watched wrestling growing up and no exactly what I'm talking about.. USA USA HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

You gotta be kidding me. He did run around and twirl it and was always forced by the ref to leave it in the corner or something, but he'd always use it behind the refs back, despite being a babyface.
