Was it just me or Jones overall awkwardness on camera but I thought he looked and sounded so awkward or shaken post fight when he was talking about facing Rashad. |
I agree.
Rashad will def be the most athletic and explosive fighter Jones will face. Rashad is becoming more GSP-esque, rounding out his game and filling any glaring holes. His fight IQ is also getting higher by each fight and that just comes with experience. I dont see Jones trying any of his acrobatic antics in the cage, leaving himself open for an attack by Rashad. He had the luxury of doing that with slow fighters like Rampage and Bonnar but Rashad would make him for it.
Also, anyone who thinks JOnes runs through Rashad after last night's performance needs to realize that the way the fight played out, was very beneficial to Rashad, including Evans himself. Had he gone in there and finished Davis in the 1st or 2nd round with a KO, he wouldnt have gotten the chance to grapple with a top level wrestler for 5 rounds. Plus, anytime you can go at it 5 rounds, a fighter should be glad they got to test their endurance in a hard fought matchup. It will def help Evans build off of for his match with Jones.
AS the fight with Jones approaches, Rashad will realize he had the luxury of getting the chance to fight someone who is just as lengthy and strong as Jones. I'm not saying Davis and Jones are the same fighter, but both do have longer reach than Evans, and it def gave Rashad an opportunity to see what's it like to stand with someone who can attack from a distance.
Jones and Evans is gonna come down to game planning and I def expect a technical matchup. It will be hard fought and a lot closer than many people are expecting.
