| Jones an early 6-to-1 favorite over Evans Jones an early 6-to-1 favorite over Evans Quote:
With his win over Phil Davis at the UFC on FOX 2 event, Rashad Evans has earned himself a shot at the lightheavyweight title held by Jon Jones. The drama for this matchup has been building over the last year as for some reason or another it wasn't able to happen. Now with both fighters healthy and ready to go they will square off in April at UFC 145 in Atlanta.
Today, betting site BetOnFighting.com, opened the betting lines and champion Jon Jones opened as a huge favorite:
Jon Jones: -600
Rashad Evans: +400

Rashad seemed susceptible to those leg kicks that Phill was throwing last fight. I hope Jones really works on his boxing and circling away from Rashads rights hand.

those odds are ridiculous what has rashad done so poorly that would make him that big of an underdog? i actually think its somewhat of a toss up.

I think Jones is going to beat Rashad in a nasty way, but those odds are exagerated.

If anything his fight against Davis made me think he has an even better chance. He checked just about every leg kick thrown at him. He out wrestled one of the best wrestlers in the division who just happens to be a lot bigger then he is. Oh and lets not forget he didn't even really get hit, also he lasted all 5 rounds without gassing.

Thats crazy odds. I think Bones will beat Rashad badly but if anyone can make it a fight it would be Rashad. He has trained with Bones and knows his abilities and his mental make up. If Bones beats Rashad no one beats him for at 205. Jones is a HW fighting at 205.

I agree that Jones should be the favorite, but Evans has the best shot of anyone in the division to beat him in my opinion. The 6-1 odds are probably due to the Jones hype and everyone betting on him. Vegas needs to give incentive to betters to get some money flowing in on Rashad.
Just imagine if Jones beats Evans decisively how skewed the odds will be for his next fight. 10-1, 12-1 maybe?

Doesn't that mean if you put $100 on Rashad and he wins you get $600? Sorry about the dumb question lol

i have a feeling the gap will close some closer to fight time. but it might not be a terrible idea to drop a few bucks on rashad. not that i think he would win but stranger things have happened.
