| Jon Jones on Rashad, moving to heavyweight Jon Jones on Rashad, moving to heavyweight Quote:
Light-heavyweight champion Jon Jones wanted to take a heavyweight fight this year, but had his request denied.
"I taked to Dana and Lorenzo about taking fight for the fans at the end of 2012. I figured beating Henderson, and Rashad, there will be a period where I'm going to figure out who I fight next. And during that period, at the end of 2012, I requested a heavyweight, a top-10 heavyweight," he said in an appearance on The MMA Hour.
"But Dana and Lorenzo did not think that was going to best for me to do right now. They want me to continue in the light-heavyweight division."

It's only a matter of time anyway. Bones has said as much, and I think (may be getting my wires crossed) Dana has mentioned that Bones will probably move up to HW at some point.
I'd like to see him clear out his division though. He has at least two more good fights in Rashad and Hendo, and by that time a Machida comeback is very possible, or Shogun.

I hope he does move to HW as he wouldn't touch the gold at least while guys like JDS, Cain, and Overeem are there. I think Carwin would handle him as well.

EDIT: yeah, it feels slimy cheering for rashad.

| I don't know if it's the best thing for Bones or not, but it's definitely not the best thing for business, or the hype machine. Don't get me wrong, Bones is legit, but it's ideal for the UFC to be able to bill him as essentially invincible; but the illusion of invincibility and the ppv buys it brings by having people wanting to witness it, are gone when Bones loses at either LHW or HW.
Sounds like Bones is drinkin' the kool aid.

I'm actually pulling for Rashad to win.

Most of the top 10 HW beats Jones as of NOW
He needs to put on soild mass before stepping in there with the big boys IMO

what I find very refreshing is Jones is proud to be champ and wants to prove he is by not only clearing his division but any fight challenge within his reach. Talk of PFP should include this type mindset in my opinion.
Flashback of UFC in the begining where most of us became devoted fans and a middle weight(H gracie) can defeat a super heavy weight to be the baddest man on the planet.Yes I know those days are gone but it still feels good to hear a true fighter eager to prove he is PFP the best in the world.

Who would be a good fight for Jones in his first HW tilt?
So how would be a good entertaining fight yet still builds on the career of Jones.
