Fedor Emelianenko gets blamed for a lot of bad things.
Aside from leading to the demise of just about every mixed martial arts (MMA) promotion he's ever competed in, the former WAMMA-jamma was also singled out as a bus-hogging diva in Japan.
Now he's accused of giving Satoshi Ishii brain damage.
Japanese weekly publication Cyzo claimed doctors told the former Olympian he suffered a "cerebral edema" in his fight against "The Last Emperor" at the "Genki Desu Ka Omisoka" year-end MMA extravaganza last month in "The Land of the Rising Sun."
Ishii's friend and training partner Ryo Chonan says (via The Garv) "Satoshi Ishii is just fine" and that "the people who spread these false rumors about other people's lives and livelihoods should just die."
As of now, we can confirm that Emelianenko hits hard -- but not hard enough to cause brain damage.
That's probably good news for his next mystery opponent, who will meet the former PRIDE FC champ this summer somewhere in Europe or Japan.
