No they did not botch it. First off, they have only had the one UFC on Fox show. The Cain/JDS fight was a teaser and not supposed to be an actual show. This is MMA. Anything can happen and that's what it is. JDS caught Cain and KOed him, it was spectacular.
As far as the only actual UFC on Fox to go down so far, what was bad was not all the UFC's fault.
An injury forced Wiedman into a fight on 11 days notice. Of course he is going to gas, that's not enough time for a full camp.
The Bisping/Sonnen fight wasn't great but that's what Sonnen does, he uses his wrestling to hold his opponent down. Bisping defended and instead of going to a different gameplan he stuck with it. In this the UFC could have put a different fight in there as Sonnen is only entertaining with a mic in his face, and not always then either.
As far as the Evans/Davis fight goes, I don't know what more people could want. Rashad looked great and dominated Davis.
The bottom line is, this show was more entertaining than any top title fight I have watched in boxing in the last few years.
