On an interview given to TATAME, directly from England, where he lives in, the athlete explains nobody’s taking care of his business, and that is the reason for taking so long for him to have his sixth MMA fight.
“I’m dealing with some things before signing this fight, because I’m in between managers, there’s nobody taking care of this for me right now. I believe in May or June I should fight again”, explains Roger, who rather not give many details about his situation.
Roger’s last bout was against King Mo, when he was knocked out on the first round, in September. It was the first loss on the Brazilian’s career, and now he is waiting for a definition, willing to fight as soon as possible.
“I’m a little bothered because I don’t wanna spend much time without fighting. We’re in February and there’s nothing scheduled. These things take time. I don’t believe I’ll fight before April”.
Three-time open class champion at Mundial, the BJJ black belt also talked about the most important competition of the gentle art. He affirmed he won’t fight it only if Strikeforce schedule a bout close to it.
“I want to fight at Mundial, but I’m not sure because my bout is not scheduled. I’ve been prioritizing MMA and I want to dedicate 100% to that. The only reason I wouldn’t fight Mundial would be if I have a bout close by. Every time I tried to arrange both events I was not 100% in any of them. I rather dedicate completely to one of them. Jiu-Jitsu is my passion, Mundial is the biggest championship there is and it’s really worth dedicating to fight the bests”.

Smart by Roger. His BJJ schools will keep him afloat on his name from now until he dies... MAke some extra MMA money good call.
Correction: Roger's mother is a Gracie and he took her last name instead of his father(which I think is crazy disrespectful to his father and family)
