| Thiago Silva vs. Brandon Vera rematch set for May 15 in Virginia Thiago Silva vs. Brandon Vera rematch set for May 15 in Virginia Quote:
Don't think for a moment this one won't be personal.
Thiago Silva (14-2 MMA, 5-2 UFC) and Brandon Vera (12-5 MMA, 8-5 UFC), who first met in a UFC 125 bout that was eventually ruled a "no contest," will fight again on May 15 in Fairfax, Va.
As MMAjunkie.com (UFC blog for UFC news, UFC rumors, fighter interviews and event previews/recaps | MMAjunkie.com) first reported, the UFC is expected to hold an event at this city's Patriot Center, though UFC executives have yet to reveal the venue for the card or where the action will be broadcast.
Nevertheless, the UFC announced the matchup early Thursday morning.
The event is expected to serve as the UFC's second trip to the Patriot Center following UFC Fight Night 20, which took place Jan. 11, 2010 and featured a lightweight headliner between Gray Maynard and Nate Diaz. The event was a reported sellout with a $730,000 live gate and 8,500 in attendance.

What is the point of this fight? Just because Thiago might not be on steriods anymore does not mean this fight will be any different then the first. Thiago still is a bigger LHW and still a much better grappler then Vera. The first fight was completely one-sided and I doubt the second will be any different.
Vera, Thiago is going to hand you your walking papers a second time.

What if he loses this, not only did he not get his revenge but also he gets another big loss. I say Vera should skip this fight and just "knee cap" Siva (Tonya Harding style).

Can't believe that Vera went from being a force in the HW division to being too small and getting bullied in LHW.

Now he's lost all that muscle he had at HW and he's a scrawny LHW. Thiago ragdolls and beats Vera up again, don't think anything has changed since that fight.

Vera, Thiago is going to hand you your walking papers a second time. | I agree with ALL of this.
(unless Ring Rust has a serious affect).

Unless Thiago choses to stand with Vera(to which I very much doubt), this is one of those rinse, lather, repeat fights.

This is a guy that handily outstruck Evans by a 3-1 ratio in their fight (which should have been a draw). And he has a lot of power in his hands.
But I think you are right, Thiago pushes Vera against the cage, takes him down and beats him up.
