and I highly doubt Georges will pass Nick's guard as often as he did BJ's, unless its Nick giving up his back to go for a Kimura...and if Diaz could instantly get up when getting taken down, well that would be perfect but that is unlikely to happen so of coarse Nick is going to have to utilize his guard some.

Nick might not sub Fitch but Id be willing to bet he'd do a bit better than Penn did when he had Fitch's back. Either way Fitch hasn't faced anybody with near the submission ability of Diaz except for Penn and Penn didn't exactly look like deal-sealer when he had his chance to capitalize.

I just think its funny when people are like "BJ is a world BJJ champion, he is easily better" when that was 10 years or so ago and he has hardly competed in pure bjj since.
Nick has good bjj but where was it against guys like Sherk, Riggs, Diego, and Karo. In those fights Nick was on his back most of the fight and was not able to sub any of them. He also wasnt able to get off the bottom. I really wonder how much Nick even trains Bjj anymore since all he seems to want to do is box.

IMO neither Diaz nor Condit will be able to stop GSP. GSP will just take them down and lay on them for 5 rounds. He doesnt care how he wins anymore as long as he wins. Lets be honest that Diaz or Condit cannot stop a takedown to save there life. Against weaker wrestlers these guys have not been able to get off the matt.

Wasn't Condit the guy who beat Ellenberger and Macdonald? 2 of the best wrestlers at WW.

The diego fight was full of great bjj, the whole thing was a massive scramble, it was close, Diego won that fight off of being on top. And i havent watched the karo fight in ages, but didn't diaz lose the decision because of his stand up? Anyways these were years ago, he was still a fresh brown belt and maybe even still a purple belt in some of these fights.. Not saying he will sub gsp (gsp's ground game has improved incredibly these past few years as well, training with top guys.), but anything can happen and I'm not going to discredit his skills.

No they are both great fighters who are Top 5 WWs. Everyone in this in underestimating just how fuckin good GSP is. The guy literally hasn't been challenged since 2007. Thats over 5 years since a guy gave him any legit trouble (Serra). Since then he has dominated every single fighter that has been put in the octagon in front of him.

Every single time GSP fights we hear one of these lines:

"Oh this guy will be able to take GSP down." (Kos, Fitch, Hughes)

"Oh this guy will be able to hurt GSP standing!" (Alves, Hardy, Kos and Penn)

"Oh this guy can submit GSP off his back!" (Shields, Penn and Serra).

And guess what happens every time... GSP puts a stamp on them. I have bought into the hype many times in the past and this time I am not. When Condit or Diaz fights GSP they are just going to be added to the legacy of the best WW in MMA history.

Based on that logic, one can draw the argument that GSP will be WW champ for at least 10 years. Doesn't sound very realistic to me. It wasn't that long ago that an invincible Matt Hughes was having a rematch with the guy who he took down at will and subbed in the first round...

You said it showed penns hits was on another level...I said it didn't. Which it most certainly did not

We have yet to see a fighter be able to keep GSP in thier guard, he passed Fitch's guard numerous times in thier fight and i remember everyone was toting that Fitch had the best guard in the WW division.

Nick and Condit can both give GSP a rough time if it stays standing, but if GSP makes contact with his takedown he will drive them back so fast that neither of them will be able to stop him.

We will see how good Nick and Condit really are when a good wrestler has them on thier back.

Ether way I look forward to whom ever GSP has to fight as it will be a good fight, all three guys have great cardio.
