UFC 143 salaries: Diaz ($200K) and Koscheck ($146K) earn top paydays

The total disclosed payroll for the event was $880,500.

The full UFC 143 payouts included:

Carlos Condit: $110,000 (includes $55,000 win bonus)
def. Nick Diaz: $200,000

Fabricio Werdum: $100,000 (no win bonus)
def. Roy Nelson: $20,000

Josh Koscheck: $146,000 (includes $73,000 win bonus)
def. Mike Pierce: $20,000

Renan Barao: $22,000 (includes $11,000 win bonus)
def. Scott Jorgensen: $20,500

Ed Herman: $62,000 (includes $31,000 win bonus)
def. Clifford Starks: $8,000

Dustin Poirier: $24,000 (includes $12,000 win bonus)
def. Max Holloway: $6,000

Edwin Figueroa: $16,000 (includes $8,000 win bonus)
def. Alex Caceres: $8,000

Matt Brown: $30,000 (includes $15,000 win bonus)
def. Chris Cope: $8,000

Now, the usual disclaimer: The figures do not include deductions for items such as insurance, licenses and taxes. Additionally, the figures do not include money paid by sponsors, which can oftentimes be a substantial portion of a fighter's income. They also do not include any other "locker room" or special discretionary bonuses the UFC oftentimes pays. They also do not include portions of the pay-per-view revenue that some top-level fighters receive.

For example, as previously reported, UFC officials handed out additional $65,000 UFC 143 bonuses to Thompson ("KO of the Night"), Poirier ("Submission of the Night"), and Werdum and Nelson ("Fight of the Night").

In other words, the above figures are simply base salaries reported to the commission and do not reflect entire compensation packages for the event.

Big country's pay looks low to me. Isn't the ultimate fighter contract 33k a fight? Seems odd that he's making less now.

No that's about right they start out making around 16k on a win and it scales up slowly from there.

no, thats the 6 figure contract. One figure for show, the other 5 for actual paychecks lol

At UFC 137, Roy made $20k + $20k last fight.

Before that at UFC 130, he made $15k to lose.

I do find it weird that after a lose, his base pay got bumped up to $20k. Then after a win, he gets no bump in pay at all.

If he had managed to beat Werdum, he would have received $20k + $20k, the same pay as beating CroCop.

I found that weird. But probably because Big Country got a new contract after beating CroCop and it starts at $20k + $20k

another I found surprizing was Condit. 110,000 including a 55,000 bonus and still only made half of what the looser(Diaz) made. Condit may have won but he sure got screwed on the paycheck

Carlos had never headlined an event. At UFC 132 he made $34k+$34k. And $26k+$26k at UFC 115.

He made $16k more to show and another extra $16k to win. By far the biggest payday of his career. That is nearly a 50 percent pay increase from his last fight.

Hardly getting screwed. It was only Carlos' 4th UFC PPV event.

Nick has done 11 UFC PPVs and headined 5 SF events where he was the main event.

Nick got $200k with no win bonus last fight too. He gets a PPV percentage. Nick is a big draw....and Carlos' draw has yet to be proven.
