I don't see Diego as champ anytime soon, he won't take the strap from GSP, frankly I'm not sure who will. I think Penn will lose before it comes to a decision if he fights GSP again.

Champ...eventually. I'm with about 90% of the people on here; he can't beat GSP or Penn, though he has a better chance at Hughes. He'll get there, though.

People don't give credit to Hughes' submission skills but he put on some really good submissions... he did to gracie even though he didnt get him to tap but gracie has too much pride.... he put a nice kimura on riggs... he submitted trigg twice with a rear naked choke (well now it seems like everyone is doing it to him lol) and i think the armbar that he did on gsp in the first fight was a beautiful counter to a sub... that was high level!... although gsp could've stayed in for one more sec
but if u look at his record he has finished off as many people with submissions as diego has had fights

Hughes is awesome on the ground, he just never developed any stand-up.

yup, when he started he never really needed great stand up, i bet he wishes he would have learned when he started, imo its to late to get good stand up, i mean he can improve a little but not enough to be a great striker, id just tune up his stand up and work on his take downs more make them better then they already are, if he could improve that alot, he could beat gsp, just cant beat gsp standing

It's not fair to dichatomize Diego as either a Champ or a Chump because he will be dealing with GSP his whole career unless one of them switches orgs. I don't ever see him beating GSP to become Champ but he is far from being a Chump.

he has the potential to best GSP cuz IMO hes a poor mans GSP
He prolly has the edge in JJ and wrestling I really dont know if anyone knows better please tell me, in terms of striking of course GSP has the edge but Diego can strike too and is improving.. I mean dude trains with Sugar Shane Mosley in boxing hes really reachin out to improve, and he is an aurora of athletism as well so Diego vs GSP would be a WAR but i'd still go with GSP, IMO the only man that can beat GSP right now is BJ Penn and Penn showed that he can beat him in there first fight when he lost a razor close decision.

We will have more to go by when the UFC actually starts putting competitive fights between the four and we can actually see how Diego does against one of them. GSP is a great wrestler- I don't think he has any accomplishments but from watching him fight he has a natural ability to roll. Diego does as well, but GSP is probably stronger and he does have better subs.
