I missed some of the prelim fights last night but other than that, the fights were pretty damn good. Welcome, flyweights! The 2 flyweight fights were awesome. Ian McCall is badass and I am a newly made fan of his. Johnson looked much better at FLW, too, and Benevidez will be the champion, IMO. Benevidez looked incredible in there last night.
The Kampmann/Alves fight was insane. I was so surprised by Kampmann securing the choke after the reversal. Absolutely spectacular but what a very disappointing loss for Alves. It was a back and forth striking match and Alves was edging Kampmann and starting to get the better of him before that major mistake. Another great fight for free!
Consta and Court was 15 grueling minutes of back and forth action. Both guys are tough SOB's which is what made for that fight. It might have been the beer, but that fight seemed like the longest 15 minutes of the night (that I had witnessed).

I thought it would take more time to officially change, but it seems that the McCall/Johnson fight has been turned into a "Majority Draw." That was quick. I figured it would have to go through some form of appeals process.
How does this happen at this stage/ level of the sport? I'd hate to be the person solely responsible for this mess. Man, I just knew that we were going to see our first overtime round.

BP | It really should be 4 rounds with the possibility of going to 5 rounds. Just makes more sense if the fight is going to guarantee a title shot which will be 5 rounds.
I guess 3 rounds with possibility of a 4th makes more sense for time.
Close fight. I had McCall, but rewatched it tonight and it was pretty close.

Not a bad card.
Costa vs McGee: Costa has pretty good boxing and is very strong. Hopefully he fights again.
DJ vs Ian: Very very entertaining fight. IMO DJ won the fight and the original decision was correct. Ian "gay mustache" McCall was screaming and making show in the last minytes of the 3rd round, but overall Johnson was better.
The rematch will be interesting, these 2 gave a great fight.
Benavidez vs Urushitani: Not a lot to say here. Benavidez won the 1st round and KOd the jap early in the second. I think both DJ or Ian will beat him.
Alves vs Kampmann: It had some good moments. As for the end, those things happen in MMA. It is not the first time that a guy have dominated the whole fight and at the end the other guy ends up winning.
That is a good thing, in other sports like Football (Real football, not american Football) if a team is winning 4-0 in the 40th minute of the second half it is impossible that the other team is going to win. In MMA everything is possible.

Not trying to be a dick but how can you say "DJ was better", he was heavily outlanded in total strikes and was beaten pretty handily in the grappling department...also it seems that Ian hits a bit harder.
