| Tim Boetsch: 'I want to be the guy to take that belt from Anderson Silva' Tim Boetsch: 'I want to be the guy to take that belt from Anderson Silva' Quote:
Boetsch makes his case for a "Spider" fight (via Sherdog.com) after the jump. Quote: |
"Chael showed a strong wrestler does well against him. The only thing that Chael failed to do was damage Anderson throughout the fight, and that’s kind of my specialty. I will deliver a high amount of damage from start to finish, and that would make a huge difference in the outcome of the fight. A lot of fighters out there are (scared). They think of him as an invincible superhero. If you’re thinking that way about your opponent, you’ve already lost. I think that’s what happens to a lot of guys. They lose that fight before they even get in the cage with him. I want Anderson to hold onto that belt until I get there. He is obviously a legend in the sport already. That being said, everybody has to lose eventually and I want to be the guy to take that belt from him. That’s been a dream of mine for a long time."

No way he even gets a title shot, let alone even beating Silva.

I mean right now isn't that what every guy in that weight class wants? How many guys are like, "I hope I can be a solid gateway fighter for the next 5 years.".
Also he has wanted this for a long time? So, when he was fighting light heavyweight he was thinking, "This must be the best path to a title shot with Silva!".
Lol

"If you put a microphone in somebody's face, and he calls out anybody other than the champion, he might as well just turn in his pink slip. If you're not here to be the best, get to the end of the line. You don't belong."

i said a long time ago the only way to beat anderson is blitzkreig technique, if you let him set up it's over, boetch has that, but when you rush someone it's 50/50 on whos gonna fall, and with anderson its 90/10, so yah boetch has a tool that could put anderson down but I wouldnt ever bet against anderson. i would be cheering for boetch ive been a big fan since his first fight when he just ragdolled his oppenent, david heath?

Of course he wants to be that guy but I am not buying it yet. He struck gold with his comeback win over Okami but for 10 mins before that Okami was making it look like Boetsch had no buisness being in the UFC. You aren't always going to be able to hit that home run and I think he is going to go back to being a mid-carder after his next fight when he gets beat by an upper level MW.
