Default Gurgel vs hominick

Jorge Gurgel vs. Mark Hominick

Round 1: Not a very exciting first round. I'd probably lean with Gurgel due to aggression, plus he landed some effective leg kicks. Beyond that, the entire round was on the feet with neither guy landing anything clean. But again, Gurgel was busier so I'd probably go 10-9 for Gurgel.

Round 2: A little more exciting, but nothing really big happening. Close round, probably Hominick in this one, 10-9. Entire round was on the feet again, with Gurgel landing some leg kicks. Twice in the round Hominick caught Gurgel's leg and sweeped his other foot, putting Gurgel on his back. Hominick landed a decent combo with the hands at one point, other than that just a lot of pitter-patter punching going on.

Round 3: This round was good. Tough to score though. I'd lean towards Gurgel, but it was close up until the end, slight edge to Gurgel, but Hominick finished stronger. I'd go 10-9 Gurgel, giving him the fight 29-28, but according to Joe Rogan he thinks it'll be 29-28 for Hominick. Judges cards are coming up in a moment. After the horn sounded, both guys dropped down and starting doing push-ups to prove they weren't tired. Should have used more of that energy in the actual fight.

Mark Hominick def. Jorge Gurgel via Unanimous Decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28) after 3 Rounds.

Gurgle should have won this fight. Not only did he press the action the entire fight, his shots seemed to do way more damage. Hominick only gave gurgel a couple of counter shots each round, while gurgel gave him not stop action. Plus Hominick ran away from jorge like 3-4x, scared to go anywhere near a clinch or takedown. I agree with the above scoring, and should have gone to jorge.

Obviously I agree as I had it 29-28 for Gurgel, but that last round was close and I could see giving it to Hominick which would make the final score 29-28 for Hominick.

The running away by Hominick was bad though. Between him and Loiseau doing that, must be a Canadian thing.

i probably would have leaned towards gurgel, but the last round was a toss-up. plus gurgel looked like he was just having fun in there, not trying to finish it at all. hominick fell several times and gurgel never capitalized. also, he should have saved all his good sportsmanship until after the fight instead of tapping gloves with hominick on multiple occasions. it seemed like gurgel was sparring more than fighting.

ok hopefully I dont make myself sound too much like an ass with this post but

IMO if it was all 1 big round Gurgel would of won, but it wasnt.. Hominick took the first 2 rounds IMO and that gave him the fight, Gurgel won the last though IMO.

crocop has ran away from opponents too.I don't like it when people really complain about close fights that could've went either way.Why complain about scoring like this when you have descions like tito over griffin. someone scoring the Bonnar/Evans fights a draw etc.

I think Gurgel is a good fighter, lots of potential, very exciting to watch. He puts on a great show, win or lose. However, I think he could have won that fight by playing it just a bit smarter. I admire and respect the heart it takes to stand and trade with a kickboxer like Hominick. But why play Hominick's game? Every time he kicked midsection, Hominick trapped the leg and then swept. That one sweep looked like it hurt his bad knee too! What did he think Hominick was going to do? I just don't think it was very smart on Gurgel's part. He could have won, definitively, if he would have just *not* thrown those kicks.
