| Jose Aldo: If Frankie Edgar won't come to me, I'll have to go to*him Jose Aldo: If Frankie Edgar won't come to me, I'll have to go to*him Quote:
It was a fight that almost came to fruition when UFC President Dana White offered the former lightweight Champion an immediate title shot if he was willing to drop to 145 pounds. Unfortunately "The Answer" was "no," and Edgar was instead granted a rematch against Ben Henderson later this summer.
Aldo is undeterred.
While he maps out a rough gameplan for fighting the winner of Dustin Poirier vs. Chan Sung Jung, who battle for the right to face "Junior" for the featherweight strap later this year, Aldo still maintains the desire to fight Edgar somewhere down the road.
Even if it means moving to lightweight.
"Having Edgar, a former lightweight champion, would be amazing for the featherweight division, but if he doesn’t come down [to 145 pounds], in the future, I’m going to have to move to lightweight," Aldo told Sherdog.com. Jose Aldo: If Frankie Edgar won't come to me, I'll have to go to*him | We obviously know that the Edgar/Bendo rematch is next on the schedule, but it's pretty interesting that Aldo is willing to move up to fight Frankie. I wonder if "The Answer" loses to Benson again if he'll be more willing to move down and take on Jose/Joe-say?
I'm thinking that he probably won't get much say in the matter due to Dana's antics right after the last outing that appeared as if he were going to force Edgar to move down a weight class.

I want to see this fight happen really badly. I think Aldo merks Frankie.

| Anthony Pettis: I'm not dropping down to featherweight to fight Jose*Aldo Anthony Pettis: I'm not dropping down to featherweight to fight Jose*Aldo Quote:
Just days after his manager was telling reporters he was considering a drop down to 145-pounds to fight UFC Featherweight Champion Jose Aldo, Anthony Pettis has made his immediate plans clear.
"I'm not dropping to 145-pounds to fight Aldo," he tweeted. "155-pounds is my home and I'll get that belt soon."
Lofty aspirations, no doubt, but his optimism isn't exactly misplaced. The man currently holding the lightweight championship, Ben Henderson, is the very same man "Showtime" posterized with his "off-the-wall" kick at WEC 53 back in Dec. 2010.
Pettis took "Bendo's" lightweight title then; why couldn't he do so now?

Maybe the Korean Zombie is the only taker right now.

Nobody wants to drop just to get beat by Aldo. Is what the titles to the articles should say

i cant tell if he's disrespecting the answer or praising him, just wish people would get off frankie's back, the guy has intrigity and heart like no other, all these other guys cut weight to they can have every possible advantage. aldo should be at 155 anyway, fighters shoud not be cutting to the extreme limit of there body, they should not be cutting beyond 50% of their excess water weight or about 9% of their natural weight

1. I think Edgar would give Aldo hell and would probably beat him. We are talking about a guy who is arugably a better striker then Aldo and his movement could give Aldo a lot of trouble.
2. No Aldo you will not move up. You need to fight Cruz... end of discussion. Aldo v. Edgar is not a super fight... Aldo v. Cruz is the BIGGEST super fight at the moment.

At the risk of sounding like a broken record, there are too many weight classes under 155. These guys can avoid fighting other star fighters who are the same size by hiding out in weight classes that are only 10 lbs apart just like in boxing.

i dont see why we're talking about this fight right now tbh. edgar isn't even the champion at 155 and that would be the only reason why it would make sense at lightweight imo. now edgar moving down to 145 to challenge for the featherweight title is a different story. but if aldo moves to 155, he shouldnt face anyone other than the champion.
personally, i would rather see this fight take place at featherweight as it would make the most sense, but obviously, the fight would be great no matter where it takes place.
