I put Fair.
it is fair because the ref says "are you ready" and then says fight. She should heave been ready, BUT
It was piss poor sportsmanship. If you don't want to touch gloves just wave it off then start throwing
Fair YES, Piss poor sportsmanship YES

It's fair. That's why you make eye contact BEFORE the ref gives you the go ahead to see if your opponent wants to touch or not. When the fight starts, it starts.....fighters don't have to touch gloves.

Protect yourself at all times.
If the fighters both raise their fists before the bell and there isn't a headshake no, then it is foul. In this case, it was foul as fuck. Disgusting lack of respect.
Yet, she should have checked for the glove tap far beforehand, thus it was a rookie mistake which was taken advantage of.
Reeks of Floyd Mayweather. |

It's fair, she didn't at any time make an attempt to touch gloves do she wasn't misleading with anything she had her hands up in a guarding position from the offset. The fight had started and clearly Maia will learn from this poor judgement in the future. You watch most fighters before a round / fight starts and most will signal to their opponent for a glove touch, clearly and at no time did Gaff want any part of a glove touch. Protect yourself at all times. The round had started it was her own fault.

like degenero said it reeks of floyd mayweather
anyway i cant stand it when people touch gloves in front of the ref and then still wish to tap gloves too, just be respectful and touch gloves in front of the ref then fight, now if the ref doesnt call you guys up u can exchange glances and raise your hand to see if the other guy wants to tap gloves at the beginning of the round. now that being said even if you dont want to touch gloves in front of the ref or at the start of the round you dont take advantage of your opponents soft heart right at the get go, maia clearly had her hand out stretched from the beginning yet both refused to make eye contact at that point as well, it wasnt like the first strike knocked her out it was a barrage and she did try to cover up its just bad sportsmanship and is it sexist of me to think the women should be better at this than men? because i think i feel that way alittle.

When the fight starts, it's fight time. Not shake hands time. They should make it a rule to shake before the fight or not at all.
