Nick is really young and doesnt have to do a show like that. He fights for the StrikeForce promotion . I bet you guys didnt know, but after the fight with Riggs, Nick beat his ass in a street fight.

people think that nick would have to do the show to fight in the ufc again... and the thing about him fighting in strike force is a rumor.

as for the actual fighters on the show, i'm glad to see pete sell's name there.

I agree with the fact that these are exhibition matches...that way the ufc doesn't have to release the results since they aren't counted as official MMA wins or losses.

And just for you jedibaker:

The guys spend a little over 6 weeks cooped up in a house and the TUF training center with camera crews taping everything and are allowed no contact with the outside world - no letters, no phones, no TV, no radios, and no internet.

They have to train and fight in matches to eliminate each other untill only 2 are left in each weight class and then the remaining 2 in each class fight each other to determne the finale winner on live TV.

The final winner in each weight class gets a plaque, a fancy new watch, and a six-figure contract with the ufc.

So far all of the seasons have had competing teams made of rookies and relative unknowns that are all new to the ufc....with coaches that are top fighters competing in a PPV match when it is over too...either with each other or with the #1 contender in their weight class.

What makes this season unique is that there are no competing teams, no coaches (only advisors and trainers), and all of the guys are seasoned veterans and have all fought in the ufc before.

Previous seasons have had people quit and go home, verbally tap out, refuse to fight, get drunk and trash the house, and whine like little bitches...and have had coaches get into a bunch of trash-talking bouts.

Hopefully...things will be better this time.

And just for the record...my lady is the reality show addict - not me...lol

When that crap is on..I'm in my shop tinkering on my hot-rod truck or on my PC gaming or surfing the 'net.

it's a rumor until there is an announcement. i mean, it's certainly likely to happen, but until it's confirmed (and a contract is signed), it's a rumor. nick does indeed have ties to strikeforce (his brother nathan fought at the first strikeforce), but as far as the general public knows, nick has not signed a contract with strikeforce.

I found this out before but I'm having a brain fart. Why do they not count the TUF matches as official fights anymore? I thought the first season was because it was only two rounds, but this past season was three right? So why are they still not considered official fights? They're sanctioned by the NSAC, they've got the judges, refs, 3 rounds, it's televised. Is it because they aren't paid? I forget.

Because it's not live, therefore it can't be betted against. That is what I have heard anyways. It should go against their record.

Thanks, I knew all that about the previous seasons, I just couldn't remember if in this season wether or not the winners in thier respected weight classes get title shots or just contract renewals. For the record, I like some of the reality shows, but sometimes, it's just time to "tap out" to the tv and let the lady have her time with it.
