Nate Diaz "finally" awarded Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt from Cesar Gracie today, according to Jake Shields (R). His brother Nick Diaz (L) also makes it into the photo. Diaz will next get the opportunity to put his superior grappling skills to the test when he takes on Jim Miller in the UFC on FX 3 main event, which is set for the IZOD Center in East Rutherford, N.J., on May 5, 2012.

I posted it in the mma images/video section so I'm sure thats why you didn't see it...
...but as I also said in the other thread, good to see Nick with a little cut. Alot of guys would probably take it easy for a while if they got a considerable amount of time off, good to see hes staying active in the gym along with all the triathalon/xterra stuff he's doing.

good for him. he's been black belt level for years. that flash sub of pellegrino (where he had the living piss beaten out of him in the first round) was slick.

Thats funny, I remember arguing with someone over here that he was still a brown belt... whoever it was sounded like they knew what they were taking about so I just assumed they were right lol.
Nate is super crafty and slick when it comes to his JJ. I think pretty much everyone can agree this is long over due, but its good to know that its not a paperbelt, he really earned that belt no doubt.
Cole Miller is the only other legit brownbelt(that I can think of ATM) that I could see moving up to "legit blackbelt " levels. I mean a real blackbelt, not the Rashad, Jardine, Fitch etc type of blackbelt.
So stoked for Diaz/Miller!

He called me right afterwards and he was pissed...I couldn't help but to let out a good laugh.
I also cannot wait for Miller-Diaz. 2 of the top lightweights going at it, who always put on entertaining fights.

I though he was a black belt for years.
Diaz brothers are among the best non Brazilian BJJ practitioners.
