Caught in the Middle: How Teammates Have Dealt with Jones vs. Evans | MMAWeekly.com

Ultimate Fighter winner John Dodson has been with Team Jackson since his start in MMA, and he looks at Evans like a big brother, and still considers him part of the team whether he ever trains there again or not.

“I don’t care what people are saying that he’s not part of the Jackson’s family,” Dodson told MMAWeekly Radio. “I still consider him to be part of the team, and so should everyone else.”

The only fighter that has chosen not to participate in Jones’ camp is former UFC light heavyweight Keith Jardine.

As a longtime friend of Evans, Jardine has continued to work at Jackson’s during Jones’ UFC 145 fight preparation, but hasn’t been involved in camp, training or sparring at all.

“The only person that has chosen to make it pretty obvious that he’s not really in my corner is Keith Jardine. Keith is someone that I still respect, he’s the captain of our team, and we practice right next to each other all the time. He doesn’t help me train, which is fine, I’m comfortable with that. He’s keeping his loyalty to Rashad, and I respect that whole heartedly,” Jones told MMAWeekly Radio.

If I were Jackson, I'd have ejected him from the gym.

Yeah, I can't stand Dodson because of that whole snitching thing on TUF. The fact that he trains at Jackson's (a gym know for priding themselves on teamwork and loyalty) blows my mind.

But who knows, maybe Greg is using him by feeding him false information.

What is the confusion about? Jones didnt throw away the friendship with Rashad. Rashad did that.

Jones originally said he would never challenge Rashad for the title. When Jones got Rashads title shot due to injury he offered to give Rashad what was originally his...a title shot. despite the friend clause. I would say that is being a friend.

You know Jardine wouldn't have got caught in all the drama, the dude is so placid and mellow. I was interested in the behind-the-scenes fallout at Jacksons, now it's been overtalked and played on far too much, I just wanna see the two fight now.

Are you sure about this? Rashad repeatedly stated that he would move up or down in weight instead of fighting Jones. It was Bones himself that changed his tune and started saying he would fight whoever, teammate or not, including Rashad. That pissed Rashad off because it made it seem as if Evans was pulling a Tito and making excuses not to fight someone who had NO problem fighting him. Let's put the blame where it belongs.

I find the fact that Jones would say this comical, given the fact that he stated (about fighting Rashad) in an infamous interview:

"It's Dana's world when you're a UFC fighter and we live in it," Jones said. "So, I respect Dana a lot, and if that's what he absolutely wanted to happen, I guess that's what would have to happen. Me or Rashad would not want to get fired over the situation.

Now, RD, do you understand why his comment about friendship being more important kind of makes him look like he is ? If you can't keep up with the rest of the class, we're going to have to move you (and that stinky quarter you like to put up asses) into a special class.
