Good stuff, a lot of the fighters volunteer their services and there are a lot that do not, it's always nice to see someone paying respect to the soldiers, feeding the homeless, shelter for battered wives, hamane society, etc. regardless of whether or not they are fighters, stars, or just your average everyday person.

I have noticed most of the people who hate Penn tend to be Matt Hughes Lovers or Diego Sanches Lovers. IMO it is because they know Penn is better than on of their favorate fighters. Entail they choose to overlook Penns skill and accomplishments as a fighter and bag on his few losses as if they were many and not as razor thin if not questionable (sometimes) as they are. Just an observation I have made.

I dislike Penn and I dislike Hughes. I don't really like Diego a whole lot either, I just wanna see how he would do against those guys.

Just saying Most Lilmac not all... I would like to see them all fight as well. I am just saying it is "Usually" the Huggers that do this.

I don't hate BJ Penn. Reread every one of my posts and you'll realize that I don't hate the guy...I give him mad props and I consider him one of the best MMA fighters on earth. What more do you want?

What I do hate is for folks to make excuses for him, or to hypothesize "what if" scenarios and then try to lend them the same substance as cold hard fact.

"What if" he hadn't injured himself (in a fight, mind you - this isn't coloring class). "What if" he applied himself more to his training. "What if" the judges got it all wrong and GSP robbed from him. "What if" there had been 10 more seconds remaining in round 2 (guess what, there are rules and time limits...what if Matt hughes had 4 arms? it doesn't matter to say "what if", it's not going to happen and it's not going to change anything).

On a related note, it's convenient, and all too common, and starting to get really old to me, to see fights that go to a decision, and if they're anything short of a total rout, invariably some group of folks is going to pull out a word like "robbed" as in so and so got robbed on that decision.

Penn-GSP...ok, it was a split decision, and a very close fight. But Diego/Diaz? Unanimous; and the announcers also saw it the same way before the decision was announced. Diego/Karo? Unanimous; and the announcers also saw it the same way before the decision was announced.

Come on people...when everyone at an event who knows what they are talking about sees the fight one way, and all the judges unanimously see it the same way, maybe it's time to man up and stop using the word "rob" to describe the outcome.

Diegonightmare, its fighting there is always "what ifs" you just gotta learn to live with them, theres more to fighting then wins and loses.. what happens in the fight is just as important, someone can lose a fight and still showcase a ton of skill and get mad props for the loss, someone can win a fight unimpressively and it would be obvious that they have fallen off.. theres more to fighting then wins and loses.. people look at that Penn/Hughes fight and say well Penn is still one of the best cuz he didnt get dominated, he gave his all.. he came into the fight 1 LB underweight, and he dominated Hughes for 2 rounds until whatever happened in the 3rd round.. Doctors say that he seperated a rib.. Penn-haters say he gassed, I trust doctors more so I say he seperated a rib and thats why Hughes beat him.

All kidding aside many people even myself at times have a hard time accepting certain Judgments on Decision fights because of the types of judges they use and the way certain judges consider L'n'P winning a fight. Most of us who have a problem with it are people who either Train or have fought and that is why in some cases we think people have been robbed because laying on someone, and soft hits arn't doing anything. This is the reason for the other threads such as the Lay and Pray and how matches are judged threads.

give me a break all the judges seen a lot of fights the same way, and they were wrong.(examples tito/forrest, wand/arona)
