Overeem breaks silence, confident he will fight JDS - Caged Insider

The controversial top heavyweight contender, Alistair Overeem has broken his silence. Speaking with Spike TV’s ‘MMA Uncensored Live,’ The Reem refused to speak directly on the topic of his recent positive testing for elevated levels of testosterone, yet was very adamant that he will in fact compete and defeat current heavyweight champion Junior dos Santos on May 26.

“I am bigger, I am stronger, I am better in the stand-up and I’m better on the ground. So for me, I don’t think about what he is going to do to me. I think about what I am going to do to him and I am only thinking about what I am going to do to him. I am going to be ready wherever the fight takes me. I do prefer to strike, I do prefer a knockout over a submission win but I’m going to be ready for anything.”

Confidence in his abilities may be an understatement, as the K-1 Grand Prix winner continued to boast on his plans for the UFC 146 featured fight in question.

“You know I’m strong, I’m fast, I feel good. I’m going to get this guy, I’m going to beat him. Nothing scares me about Junior dos Santos. Everything he’s doing, I’ve seen it before. I’m not worried about it, I’ve experienced it all. There’s no fear, there’s only two things – trained and untrained and when I step into the octagon on May 26 I’m going to be trained. “

Would you say, 14x stronger? If it were a ratio, would you say you're 14:1 stronger than JDS?

This was a weak interview."We've got an exclusive interview with Overeem, but he refuses to discuss anything that anyone actually wants to hear him talk about." They might as well have just played an interview from a month or two ago.

Nate Quarry is the only decent part about that show. Too bad they put him between a couple of unwatchable d-bags.

Right Reem, because being bigger and stronger ALWAYS wins. I also disagree that his standup is better, JDS IMO is the best striker in the HW division. He picks people apart like a pro boxer.

Same thing they did when they had Diaz on the show... Breaking news! Diaz speaks out for the first time since his bust --- Nick, "I cant talk about anything relating to the NSAC's claims".

I think reem is a way better striker....but not as good of a boxer. Can't remember last time I saw jds land much of anything but killer punches

Kicks, knees, elbows? JDS is a damned good puncher. But we've really only seen ONE dimension from him. This is MMA, not boxing, so to say JDS is a better striker seems a little crazy considering how dynamic Overoi.. I mean Overeem's striking is.

I'm taking JDS in this fight now based off of how much of a distraction this all has to be to Overeem, and based off of the fact that Reem won't be able to do the roids anymore leading up to the fight.

no wonder its taken this long for him to speak..if he can't talk about this actual issue, what else is there really to listen to him about?
