i can see both arguments. it's a sport, but it's also a business so one has to put his family first. on the other hand, like gsp, i would find it difficult to smash my elbow into the face of a close friend...very uncomfortable.

I think what gets left out of this kind of conversation a lot (and sort of like the GSP reference Carbon made above) is that if real friends fight, the fight might not end up being as good in real life as it looks on paper

I mean, just as an example, just try and wrap your head around Machida vs Anderson. They literally probably wouldn't even hit each other

Sometimes there is more to it than just a w or an l on your record. In the UFC a loss could be your career your livelihood. Fame and money come with being a champ. In this game fights destroy friendships.

Perhaps the worse part is that if you force two friends to fight each other will they give it their all or will you feel like you are watching a sparring bout.
