| UFC or Pride? Give your reasons
Which do you prefer?
I think Pride has more top fighters, their no-namers are usually a lot better than TUFers, and they have better pre-fight interviews. I also like some of Pride's rules like the yellow card system and the use of knees on the ground. However, I prefer UFC because for one it's more available (I can rent UFC DVDs, whereas I have to buy or DL Pride events/fights) and mainly because of the cage. One of the most annoying things about Pride events is the fighters having to restart in the center or leaning against the ropes. It just reminds me too much of boxing or pro wrestling.
Maybe I'm just weird, but those are my reasons. Yours?

going strictly by quality of fights/fighters you cant go against Pride but UFC is starting to turn the tables and I say within 1-2 years Pride will either be sold or simply a shell of theyre former self because UFC is just getting too big and will take all the top guys away.

you hate the ring? lol why?
Pride for me I dont give two fucks about production even though the UFCs teenage made production bugs me I still watch and enjoy the UFC for the fights but IMO the matchmaking on Pride is much better, and the fighters are definently better with more exciting fights so naturally im gonna like Pride better.. I mean people that complain about the matchmaking on Pride are gettin mad and stuff like Hendo vs Wandy complaining that it should be Lil Nogs vs Wandy lol and either way its a great fight.. when you see a match on the UFC that you dont like its usually cuz its one-sided, and then they always have a few prelim fights that should be on the main card.. I just dont like how they have all these good fighters and they ahve them fighting cans instead of eachother.. too many one-sided fights and thats a reflection on a shallow roster, and average matchmaking.
Plus I do prefer the ring over the octagon because I feel the octagon is just effect, its there to be there and people grab it way too much it serves no purpose but looks where as the ring.. people grab it but theres people on the outside to help avoid that, and you can rope-a-dope its also better for he audience.
Prides yellow card system is awesome as well. And overall, I like watching there fighters fight more then I like watching the UFC fighters but I enjoy both.. but Pride believe it or not gets just a slight edge for me.. and ill be honest I prefer Boxing over both.

UFC
- Production values are suited to an American audience (no crazy shrieking lady or the guy in a diaper banging on a gong).
- Can watch the events live.
- Free MMA on a monthly basis.
- Champions very rarely fight in non-title fights.
- Better Commentators (Bas and Quadros pwned, but that's gone for eva it seems.)

I like both, their differences are what does it for me. I like that when I watch one it's not the same exact rules, atmosphere, fighters etc... Variety is the spice of life.

Pride, simply for having the Ring. Octagon has to be the worst idea ever.
anyway both are great organization, i just prefer Pride.

i like UFC more for the reasons that bullock listed, but at the same time its harder for me to get into pride b/c i don't get to see them too much. if i watch pride its pretty much always b/c i downloaded it and i hate watching videos on my computer too much.

The octagon is a more realistic setup.
