| Weak fights
Does it bother anyone when the UFC A-listers fight less the stellar competition, even when it is for a tune up fight after a lose? Like the upcoming Hughes/Lytle fight, I think it's cool when underdogs get a shot to win big...like when Sylvia fought Ricco, but we only get to see the A-listers fight so many times a year and I like to see competitive fights. I am not saying the fight will not be good or that there could not be an upset, but on paper it looks pretty one sided. I am not even a Hughes fan, but he is a big name and should fight someone more on his level. It is like your favorite actor who only makes a couple movies a year, you want them to be great movies. Take my favorite fighter GSP, he is out now and I have to wait months to watch his next fight...which will be Serra, and I am not too excited about it. I know there are a lot of factors for the Hughes/Lytle fight to take into account, but even for a tune up it seems way too one sided. Thoughts?

it bothers me that it seems to be on every PPV card, it also bugs me that the UFC has a lot of talent that people forget about cuz there on prelims or not too active IE: Roger Huerta and Tyson Griffin both prelim fights on the next card but hey! there not fighting eachother.. there fighting two no names, I dunno its getting to be very boring and predictable.

I agree, but it just goes along with the Dana White Way, in other words fighter building, he likes to build the records of his choice moneymakers, so he can give them titles like, most dominant welter weight of all time. Just look at Diego Sanchez, how he has not fought Hughes, Penn, or GSP yet I don't have clue, they should test there fighters more IMO.

It does bother me, I think organizations should always be looking to entertain and not give us the some bullshit match.
This is done in boxing as well, they are called "business matches" and I think they suck.
Pride does the same shit too, like this Gomi v Diaz fight...or Fedor v Zulu...they are BS where 1 opponent highly deserves the match and the other is totally not deserving of the match.
All these kind of matches do is provide a high light reel for the obvious favorite and winner, but could also (as seen in the Rashad v Salmon) could end up with somebody getting really hurt.

Im actually readin a lot of Diaz will beat Gomi stuff.. I dont see that as an uninteresting fight, its a fact that BJJ Fighters give Gomi problems add in the fact that Diaz has awesome boxing and you got a very damn entertaining fight, thats not for a belt but I agree with it for ONCE in this case.. but DAMN the biggest drawback Pride has is its non-title fights.

Most people here hate watching Koscheck because he only knows how to wrestler as where I hate watching fighters like Lytel because he fights in such a safe style that he doesn't really attack his oppenent. He is well rounded, but not great at any specific area of MMA. Yes, I do not appreciate the fact that the UFC threw Hughes a win at the fan's expense. He should be fighting Karo this time around. Lytel has done nothing to deserve a PPV fight. If Randy wasn't fighting on that card I wouldn't buy it.

You both make good points. I agree with Afro about having good fighters on a card but not having them fight each other, that's very lame. Hughes/Karo would have been nice.
