| Champ or Chump? "The Crow"
David "The Crow" Loiseau : (b. December 17, 1979) is a Haitian-Canadian mixed martial arts fighter from Montreal, Quebec.
Like I said earlier this week, this guy went from #1 contender and a 5 round loss with Rich Franklin to being dropped from the UFC and now is fighting in EliteXC.
What do you think about this guy? Is he going to come back and be champ in Pride or UFC...or is he fading away as a chump?

2nd tier, guy has the potential to be GREAT who knows why he cant reach it
hes always shown enough to say that he is a great striker, but that great striker doesnt always show up.. hes got awesome defense on the ground.. hes a good fighter that is just insanely inconsistent.. I cant call him a chump or champ.

He just turned 27...he's still pretty young. The dude is definitely not a chump. Whether he returns to Pride or the UFC remains to be seen, but if you want to talk about skills, he's the real deal.

I think the Crow is kind of the middle. He's no chump but I don't think he will ever be champ in Pride or the UFC.

Given the two choices, I've gotta say champ. He took Rich Franklin the distance, destroyed Evan Tanner, then lost to a respectable Swick. He'll be back.

chump
he has no chance of being champion in any major org. tanner was kicking his ass until he hit him with that nasty elbow that almost KOd him, Ace destroyed him, and he failed to fight aggressively against Swick, and only won 1 round against him because he would not engage.

I think he was a lil tentative for the first two rounds of the Swick fight because he was coming off getting brutalized by Franklin, who couldn't finish the fight because of his early and subsequent injuries - shattered left hand, torn ligaments on his right, hairline fracture of foot - yet still dominated the #1 contender - but Loiseau is definitely someone I want to see again. I feel the UFC was harsh in dropping him after two losses in a row, especially since one of those losses was a title fight, I mean they gave Evan Tanner another fight after being in the same situation as Crow, @$$beat by Franklin, killed by the Crow (ironic) then he came back and subbed Justin "Soft" Levens. ehh. It's funny now how people are trying to give Loiseau credibility for hanging with Swick, when really I feel that fight did a lot more for Swick, beating the loser of a title fight and a great striker in Loiseau right after the title shot. I still can't believe Swick isn't getting a title shot, should've got it after beating Loiseau who was just off the title fight, that should be the default #1 contender fight, just as it was for Tanner/Loiseau, Tanner coming off losing to champ Franklin, Loiseau beat Tanner then goes up to fight Franklin. Swick facing Okami is an insult to Swick and Okami no way deserves this opportunity. Okami beat 3 opponents, 1st guy Belcher was making debut, second guy Starnes was coming off one fight against POINTON on the TUF 3 undercard, and Singer coming off wins against POINTON and the losing Haynes...while Swick finished four guys all in the first by KO or submission, including perennial contender Riggs and most recently the guy coming off title fight Loiseau. The UFC should give shots to people who deserve them like Swick, instead of denying such appropriate awards and trying to push for fighters that they want to see get title shot just because of their damn names (Lister/Marquardt). Well I hope Swick beat Okami and then gets the next title shot.
