I just don't see how Overeem, a guy who is a veteran in the sport, who has been fighting for probably over a decade, could try to use such a rookie excuse and expect it to work. That's just downright pathetic.

I think it's funny that there was a member here who actually believe this story. Anyhow, yeah I think it's pretty obvious he's juicing. Personally though I don't really care, he seems like a cool dude, is a good fighter, and I've never really minded if athletes used roids anyway.
I love how the universal excuse though is, "yeah I was taking this supplement that happened to have testerone/roids/etc in it that just catapulted my blood levels, but I had no idea!"

Unless there is some brand new experimental drug in some off the wall country that his doctor just happened to be in that prescribed him this drug, he is full of shit with that excuse. There is no ant-inflammatory drugs, also called corticosteroids, that contain any anabolic steroids, at least not that I have ever heard of and I work with both of these types drugs on a daily basis.
Sometimes, very rarely, doctors will give several injections of nandrolone decanoate, aka deca, along with a cortisone regime when an athlete suffers a severe joint injury that is going to sideline them for more than 9 months because the deca will help speed up the healing of minor injuries and provides relief through increasing fluids to the joints.

What an idiot. When i played in the NCAA our docs knew what was in everything we took and so if you pissed hot shame on you an d to your scholarship as the door hits your ass on the way out. There is absolutely ZERO excuse for anyone to piss hot in 2012 unless they are doing things that aren't "above board".
I want Dana to cut him on principal.

The only excuses I ever believed were Sherk's and Baroni's and that is because the CSAC fucked up their cases hardcore. Both had tons of evidence that proved neither failed and in order to save face and not look like a bunch incompentent people the CSAC just cut them down to 6 months instead of completely removing it.

Guy shoulda just said he's using TRT and has dyslexia; I'd have been more inclined to believe that

I don't believe him after the FIRST SENTENCE: Quote: |
I respectfully withdrew from the May 26 event so that I can request a continuance until my situation with the Nevada State Athletic Commission is resolved.
| Early this week THIS came out: Quote: | The decision to remove Alistair Overeem from next week’s bout with Junior Dos Santos was not the Dutchman’s. Overeem’s team had been “one hundred per cent” confident that he would be able to get a license for the UFC 146 title shot against Junior Dos Santos.
