| Nick Diaz Given Permission by NJ Commission to Corner Brother Nate at UFC on Fox 3 Nick Diaz Given Permission by NJ Commission to Corner Brother Nate at UFC on Fox 3 Quote:
Nick Diaz will be in his brother Nate’s corner when he battles Jim Miller at UFC on Fox 3 next Saturday in New Jersey.
Nick Diaz is currently under temporary suspension from the Nevada State Athletic Commission after testing positive for marijuana metabolites following his fight against Carlos Condit at UFC 143.
The New Jersey State Athletic Control Board (NJSACB) will not hold that against Diaz, however, as he will be allowed to obtain a corner’s license to work with his brother Nate next weekend.
“Nick will be permitted to corner his brother on 5-5,” wrote NJSACB Counsel Nick Lembo in an email to MMAWeekly.com on Thursday.
Earlier in the day when speaking to MMAWeekly.com, Diaz’s manager and trainer Cesar Gracie also confirmed that it was his belief that Nick would be allowed to corner his brother Nate in New Jersey, but they were still awaiting final word from the commission.
| Quote:
Diaz actually fell prey to this situation when he was suspended back in 2007, also by the Nevada State Athletic Commission, following a positive drug test for marijuana after his fight with Takanori Gomi in Pride.
The commission then ruled they would not allow Diaz to corner his brother Nate during The Ultimate Fighter season 5 finale show in which he took on Manny Gamburyan.

I hope Nate pulls it off. He has a very exciting style.
but it will most likely be another Diaz vs. Wrestler with good sub defense type fight...

Yea I'd like to see Nate win but Jim does have the ability to smother him if he chooses to go that route.
Good that Nick gets to be there

Good that Nick gets to be there | Jim better hope he can get this fight to the ground right away. If not, he is getting picked apart all night.

He seemed very stationary in Oliveira's guard before pulling out that kneebar...and you definitely don't just wanna sit in Nate's guard. I think Nate's boxing will be just enough to win him a close decision but I could see him pulling out a triangle/armbar.

Jim Miller is basically a Clay Guida with better sub defense; I don't see Nate catching Jim with anything, and I don't see Jim being able to do much of anything to Nate. Styles make matchups and this one is headin for a stalemate on the ground where Jim wins by being on top.
Miller by fairly uneventful unanimous decision.

Great for Nick to be in his corner.. Jim is def gonna take this to ground but honestly I wont be shocked if Diaz submits him I think Diaz can beat Miller both standing and the ground

G-d bless NJ SAC. They aren't as retarded and brain dead as NSAC. NJ has always been at the forefront of the progression of MMA and my hat is off to them!

HOSS-Bork, you should spend more time brushing up on your MMA history, and less time complementing guys on how young their penises taste.

Miller by fairly uneventful unanimous decision. | That is the only possible way Miller wins this fight though which Diaz knows, so I'm sure he's working hard on TD D and scrambling. Diaz can also attain top position, is more of a threat from bottom, and is better on the feet.
It's kind of hard to say though because we haven't seen Diaz on the ground with a LW with good grappling in a while.
