that link doesn't work for me for some reason. It says "page not found" when I click it. Can you copy and paste what it says?

Who did he beat for the title? And that link doesn't work. You are taking Pride nuthugging to a ridiculous level.

Silva never was the UFC LHW champion, from my understanding, he and Tito were picked as the number 1 contenders, and Tito won making him the first LHW Champion in the UFC.

First of all the fight was the Middleweight Title. The first Light Heavyweight Title fight wasn't until UFC 31 when it was Ortiz vs. Sinosic. UFC 30 is when the current weight class system was put in place.

Just read up on the official title history. It documents Frank Shamrock as the first LHW champion, upon his leaving, the title was held up. On April 14th 2000, in Japan, a fight was held between Ortiz and Silva for the title to crown a new champion, the LHW title replaced the middleweight title with this fight, in which Ortiz won, and became the first champion in the newly named LHW devision, so in that fight, neither man was the champion going into it.

Sorry, just caught the Sinocec part after looking over it again, my bad. But it shows that Silva was never the LHW champion.
