If I was Stephan Bonnar (give me a second to imagine how awesome that would be.... Aaaaaaand I'm good) I'd be begging Dana to let me fight Rampage.

It's high risk/high reward
It's fan friendly
Dana has to be careful about who gets allocated to fight Rampage because it would be a bad look if they lose (what with Page bailing and all.) Bonnar has always been seen as a bit of a journeyman. Frankly, Dana can afford to have Bonnar lose and say "Eh, it wasn't one of our elite guys."

If Bonnar wins he is on a four fight win streak with a genuine Top 5 scalp on his resume. The UFC were never able to truly cash in on Bonnar in the way they did with Griffin after TUF due to his average record, injuries and steroid issue. Beating Rampage would practically make Bonnar a LHW Mark Hunt (what with him being on a 3 fight skid not so long ago) and put him in the title picture. What happens next is up to Stephan: keep winning and he might get that Jones rematch. Lose and he could get used the way Jardine was as sort of a high-level gatekeeper. Either way, more exposure, bigger paydays.

There's also the impending UFC debut of the highly skilled Ryan Jimmo and Vinny Magalhaes is due to return when his signing period BS with M1 is over. Given that Vinny's grown leaps and bounds since his first UFC run via TUF, his amazing BJJ and developing overall game will be a great addition.

It's my standing that since Hendo(the SF LHW champion) is fighting Jones in the UFC, combined with the relative lack of fresh names in the UFC's LHW division, that it may be worthwhile for UFC to bring over the other SF LHWs since there's basically 3 of them(Mousasi, Feijo & Kyle) along with King Mo to immediately beef up the UFC's depth at 205, given the impending departures of Tito and maybe even Forrest.

I'd like to see SF(whose HW division has already been raided) to rid themselves of the LHW division because their roster is just so anemic. I'd like SF to be used to highlight the lighter weightclasses(such as WEC was) and utilize it as a feeder system, something of a proving ground for future UFC caliber talents, since many of the SF divisions are so painfully thin. More or less, I'd like to see SF become a UFC Challengers type for the bigger weight classes and be used to check out the best prospects before the BIG show.
If I was Dana I would set up King Mo vs Rampage since they have beef between eachother.

You hear that? That's the sound of drums beating for Bonnar vs. Rampage!!!

Rampage to Bonnar (when Bonnar said a while ago that he'd like to fight Page) that he would "end his career, for real!". Time to put your money where your mouth is, brah.

With all the complaining Rampage is doing I'd be very inclined not to give him a fight he wants. He got his shot against Jones who brought the fight to him, he should be happy Machida only brought the fight to him for one round cause he would have lost otherwise, bitched right after the Bader fight about his opponents then gets offered Shogun and instead all the sudden has a knee injury to deal with.

I'd be very tempted to put him in with Phil Davis at this point if he wants to complain might as well match him up with another wrestler.

Rampage and Bonnar makes perfect sense, but Rampage and King Mo would take shit talking to a new level and possibly higher PPV numbers. It would also be a great launching pad for King Mo, who the UFC could promote as Rampage 2.0.........

I would say for the UFC the bonnar fight is the safer choice. How do you sell king mo if rampage beats him? Bonnar, wether deserved or not, has a reputation as a journeyman and a gatekeeper.. If he were to lose to rampage, I dont see it affecting his stock as a fighter drastically.

Haha, I was thinking the same thing. I love how Page complains about UFC trying to give him fighters that are gamers and wrestlers... like god forbid a fighter for having a game plan or being a good wrestlers. Page acts like he should be given fighters that just want to stand in the center of the octagon and trade punches. This dude is really making it hard to like him at all. What a effin chump
