| Anderson: ‘There’s not much to be said. Chael Sonnen talks alone’ Anderson: ‘There’s not much to be said. Chael Sonnen talks alone’ Quote:
How you put up with Sonnen saying all this crap?
(laughs) There’s not much to be said. Chael Sonnen talks alone.
Do you believe you’ll be able to revenge all Brazilians, since he’s a Brazilian enemy?
I guess a fight is a fight. Anything can happen. It’s good to make it clear for the Brazilian fans, the Brazilian people and mainly for you reporters: we can’t pay much attention to guys like him. When we leave our country we respect all other countries and places, we’re respected in England, Korea, Japan… In all the places I’ve been to, I’ve been respected exactly because we respect others. People will have to learn how to respect us one way or another.
This Silva vs. Sonnen rivalry would be comparable to Alain Prost VS. Ayrton Senna?
Well, it’s like comparing Maradona to Pele. There’s no comparison. Of course Chael is a great athlete and that’s why he’s in the UFC, but I have heart. We’re the bests, there’s no other way. Prost was left behind, frustrated he couldn’t beat Ayrton Senna.
What is different about Anderson who defeated Sonnen and present Anderson?
You have you have your mind like a parachute: always opened. Everything changes. Things change each time we fight. New things come up, you go through different things.
When you entered the press conference there were no provocations. Is that just a game between the two of you?
No. I didn’t see him. It’s not a game. I don’t like him. He disrespected my country, my family, so there’s nothing like it.
How did you react when heard it would no longer be a bout in Brazilian territory?
It’s disappointing. The current company responsible for making it happened wasn’t capable enough. Dana came to Brazil three times to make it happen. They tried Sao Paulo, they tried many places but they were not competent enough. To me it doesn’t change much, I’m fighting anyway. I’m sad because I would like to fight in Brazil, before my fans. It would be a great show, but there’s also Vitor and Wanderlei. I hope you can watch it because they’re great athletes and it’s going to be a great show.
Would you be more confident in case it was in Brazil?
I’m very focused. Human being, like all beings, makes mistakes, has flaws, and sometimes I say things I shouldn’t say. I’m doing my job. Independently if I win or not, I’ll pour my heart out, like I’ve been doing and I’ll bring this win to you. | Anderson: ‘There’s not much to be said. Chael Sonnen talks alone’ :: TATAME

I've liked Sonnen no matter how much of a douchebag he has been... Why? because he's funny to me and I have been keeping up with his fights for a long ass time. For quite a few years I haven't liked Silva. Why? Not really sure, maybe the way he came off in a couple of his past fights when he was supposedly bored. Maybe because I like rooting for the underdog. But after hearing Silva talk and being able to actually see his thought process a bit more than I ever have before, I can honestly say I am really starting to like the guy. He seems very grounded right now, when in the past(wasn't it Abu Dhabi?) he didn't seem so much so. An open minded individual who can actually step back and see the whole picture, as Silva seems to be right now, always has a + in my book. I agree 100% with what he is saying about respect. What Chael does is funny and yeah he says it's all for hype, but at the same point is completely disrespectful to everyone, not just Silva. I hate stereotypes, coming from Texas and traveling a lot, I've always heard the bullshit line, "You're from Texas? Where's your hat and boots?". That type thing always makes me wonder if these people realize how ignorant they sound. So when Chael makes all these disrespectful comments about another culture/country and it's people. Well, it shows how ignorant he is along with promoting other stereotypes and anti-American sentiment. You know, if he(Chael) would of just made the first few remarks about Silva to get things rolling and left it at that. I wouldn't be so inclined to go against my initial sentence in this post and tell you how much respect I have lost for the guy as of late.

I sense an impending ass whooping,we all know the first fight was pretty lopsided & that Sonnen snatched defeat from the jaws of victory but I can't help but feel that a pissed off Anderson is an extra dangerous Anderson,I can't see Chael pulling off the same feats he did the first time round.
There's doom in the air.

Chael got his ass whooped while winning the fight last time and barely doing damage to a guy with a cracked rib! I just wondered why Chael didn't go to the body more in the fight and try to break that rib? So if he couldn't beat Silva at 25%, how is he gonna beat him at almost 100%? This gonna to be a harsh ass whoopin' I can even see Silva taunting chael in this fight......

We don't know if Silva will be 100% this time.
Maybe he will be injured again. Fighters never say they are injured before a fight (unless they pull out of the fight), they say that after the fight.

Also take in mind that strikers tend to be limited in their arsenal against good wrestlers.
Risky moves can easily leave you on your back in a less than advantageous position. Chael is still a threat.

yes i realize silva has gone the distance before but keep in mind. those fighters didnt take silva the silva the distance, silva allowed the fight to go the distance because he didnt have to finish.

This would still be the fight that I'm most excited about even if there was no trash talk leading up to this fight. Chael's quips are just bonuses.

Anderson is going to knock sonnen out cold. He wont settle for a tko or flash Ko.
I dont care if Silva lands a few extra shots after the ref steps in, this is one of the few cases where it slides.
