Frank Trigg: Fedor speaks English

“A lot of my stories are usually weird stuff from after parties that you really can’t talk about," said Trigg. "But going to Japan a lot you really learn about a lot of different people. You see Jake Shields over there all the time, you see Gilbert Melendez over there all the time and it’s just a weird situation when you’re in this foreign land with all of these Americans but the most interesting thing was drinking vodka with Fedor."

“[Fedor and I] are sitting there in the hotel bar and we’re talking and we’re having a great time and all of a sudden I realize that this fool speaks English. I was like ‘Come on man, you’re really going to pull this?’ It’s not good English or clear English but you can definitely understand it enough to talk to him. He was just like ‘Nah, I don’t like doing it because I don’t feel comfortable on the microphone’ and we were just talking for five minutes in a straight English conversation without a translator.”

“Then he goes ‘You know its funny’ and I go ‘What’s that?’ and he says ‘The more you drink vodka, the better you think your Russian is.’ That was when I first started realizing how the world works.”

It is known since a very long time that Fedor speaks some english.
However it is not good enough to make interviews in english, he feels much more conmfortable doing interviews in Russian. it is normal

If Trigg wants to say "Fedor is a fake, and just like Anderson Silva he pretends that he does not speak english" it is lame.

its the same with Anderson. They both have good knowledge on English, but they arent fluent.

It would be funny if this was trigg's way to try and get one last payday.

Did Trigg say that Fedor was a fake? I didn't see that part.

I have no problem with a Russian speaking Russian btw lol. It's really not that big of a deal.

It would be funny if the real reason Anderson Silva doesn't do interviews or post-fights in English is because he sounds like Justin Bieber; it could take away from his veil of invincibility.

I know man... Did you see the commercial where he's walking his dog doing super-human stuff? He talks perfect english in that but jeez his voice just ruins the whole thing.... Completely takes away from the super-hero they were going for.

I really do not see how this is an issue. I don't blame Anderson or Fedor for wanting to communicate in their own language. They might have 'good' English, but they certainly won't be able to convey their feelings or thoughts with as much accuracy as they can in their native language.

Why so defensive? I never read anywhere where he said Fedor was being fake, I thought it was a pretty cool story
