i thought this was a 'sexual harassment' thread before I opened it up. Now that I opened it, i'm no longer interested....

Hendo has had trouble stringing togeother long win streaks. With his power he can beat anybody if he lands, but when he doesn't he's just a top 5 fighter. Hendo will show some holes in Jones game, but Jacksons gameplan if followed will stop Hendo. I would love to see someone take Jones hand when he puts it up as a block [ and gets away with it due to reach] take it and put him down. There's got to be a move that will work and avoid the spining elbow I believe Jones would use to defend after getting his arm taken. I'm like a few here once somebody gets so good you look for, and hope someone beats them.

I actually read his entire post since he took the time to write all of that. He made good points and I found myself agreeing with 99.9 % of what he said.

RD, i was always under the impression that a physical attribute was a talent. A talent being something you are given, not a skill. GSP has great wrestling and Anderson has great standup, but their Talents allow them to excel beyond many others, they simply have a higher ceiling. As with most champions in any sport, especially combat sports. Talent is what sets them apart. Yes it is such a high level that they must also have good skill. That is why guys like GSP and Anderson are so good. Often having the best skill and talent at the same time, very hard to compete with.

People often overlook how good Jones' wrestling really is.

what are you referring to. An arm drag or some type of akido standing joint lock. You better lock that up fast and it is highly debatable if that would even work or is even a legitimate technique in the first place.

Agree it would have to be fast and diffrent to cause a pause in Jones reaction. Haven't replayed Jones fights to see if he repeats moves or if each time is a little different, work or not I would injoy Jones going down when he pulls that move personally.

JJ's reach and size are a major reason he is as good as he is. He would not have the leverage to be able to be as effective in the clinch, it would be harder for him to do crazy things like spinning elbows and flying knees, and it would be harder for him to keep people at bay with his jabs/push kicks/eye pokes.

I know Silva is a very big MW, but to me, Jones just looks absolutely massive for a LHW when you see him standing next to his opponent, moreso than Silva and GSP...but he can cut the weight so why not...hopefully it starts to catch up with him right around the time the Shogun rematch happens and he has a horrible cut lol

Of course it is, but its not like his reach is going to go away, it is what it is. It sucks for other fighters, but he is at a physical advantage from the get go.

As far as shogun beating Jones. I dont ever see it. Jones will dominate everyone at LHW, but Shogun in particular matches up very poorly with Jones.

He doesnt have the TDD that Rashad, Rampage, and Lyoto do. He doesnt keep his distance and stay at range like Machida does. He likes to get inside to use his punches/kicks. Just like Shogun is a bad match up for Machida.

As far as the dream goes, I do wonder what type of psychological mishap even triggers a dream like that. Im typically dreaming about getting ass or some random shit that I cannot even remember. Only time will tell, It depends on how good the odds become
