It was an honor watching that man fight. Sad to see him retire. Fedor needs to be in some sort of hall of fame.

It's good that he has a chance to retire on a win streak but you can't help but wish the best fighter ever was going out in a more high profile way. Either way, there's no doubt in my mind he's number 1 all time (P4P, HW, or whatever), and the vast majority of people who disagree weren't watching the sport 5+ years ago. The biggest thing to remember is that he did everything he did in the HW division even though he was no bigger than most LHWs.

I don't think he will retire or if he does, I don't think he will stay retired too long. I would bet we will have the opportunity to watch Mr. Fedor again in the future.

He's always talked about life after MMA, MMA not being the end all to his life, and wanting to spend time with his family, especially after his daughter was recently born.
Plus his political endeavors, and he was just voted into something or other in Russia, World MMA something or other.
I've just always got the impression when he's done, he'll be done. He hasn't been the type of fighter to go back and forth with what he says, where did you get that impression?

Is Pashak on suicide watch?
| No, not at all. It is sad that he will retire but it had to happen one day.
He will retire as the Greatest HW in the history of MMA. No one has acomplished as much as he has.
He is a true living legend, and a great example of what a true Martial Artist should be like.
He never talked shit about anybody, he said nice things even about the fighters that talked garbage about him. And despite that in life he is very quiet and humble in the fights he is all the opposite. He is a machine that comes to literally destroy your health since the first second.
He lost 3 (maybe 4 if he somehow loses to Rizzo) fights in a 10 year career. Who else has achieved that in MMA???
What says the baldfather of the UFC is complete bullshit that only him and his idiots brainwashed fans believe.
We all wanted to see Fedor in UFC. Sadly it never happened. But at least Fedor had dignity and said NO to the baldfather knowing that he would earn much more money than fighting in M-1 or Strikeforce.
He refused to have as a boss a complete douchebag that talked shit about him for years. It is respectable that Fedor has dignity.
We never saw some "dream" matches but nevermind, anyway there are also plenty of dream fights that can happen between UFC fighters and sadly we will never see them either.
I hope Fedor gives a great performance in this last fight and destroys Rizzo just like he did with 90% of his opponents.

It was reported the biggest contract ever offered in UFC history and was turned down by M-1.
I honestly think any shit talk was more against M-1 than it was against Fedor, but with Fedor being the face of M-1, he bore the brunt of it. Much like the verbal attacks thrown at Dana White with him being the face of the UFC.
And in the end, the UFC is a product, their fighters are a product. And if people are claiming that Fedor is the #1 HW, that is a negative from a business stand point so of course Dana is gonna say he's not the #1 HW. Would Burger King say McDonalds have the best burgers? Would Mitt Romney say people should vote for Obama? Of course not.

You can say the sme thing using different words.
It is not that Dana said "Fedor is not the best fighter in the world".
He said things like "He sucks, he is overrated, he is not even a Top 10 fighter, he has fought no one since 2005". That is disrespectful, and he was specially disrespectful towards M-1 Global knowing that Fedor is a very important part of M-1.
And knowing Dana, when he will be asked about Fedor's retirement, instead of finally showing some respect he will say something like "I do not give a fuck about Fedor anymore" or "He was the most overrated fighter in the history of combat sports"

He's a legend in the MMA Communities eyes and we're the ones that cheer every time and never forget.
In many ways, that's better then any glass octagon trophies.

I think with the pace mma is moving at and the money to be made, all the new HW guys around...I just think some mega fight or new promotion who is willing to copromo with M1 will throw a boat load of money at him and get him to fight again -- in the future.
