Palhares: ‘Sonnen asked to train with me’

The Brazilian Rousimar “Toquinho” Palhares revealed, on an exclusive interview with TATAME, that the American Chael Sonnen’s team got in touch with his coach, Murilo Bustamante, and asked help on the trainings for the Anderson Silva fight, slated for UFC 148.



“He asked to train with me for Anderson but I’m not training anyone… Murilo said his coach has called him saying he wanted to come and train with me, but I said I won’t do it”, reveals the middleweight fighter.



Palhares assured to cheer for Spider, champion of the division on which he fights at. “I’m rooting for Anderson”, guarantees. “A fight is a fight… If he fights as much as he talks… Let’s see”.

Even someone like Vitor, who really dislikes Anderson wouldnt train with Sonnen. It is turning your back on your people.

That is just another reason why Vinny Magalahes is such a snake. Cant stand that guy. His ground is sick, but his wrestling is less than impressive, and reacts worse to getting hit than Lesnar.

oh come on, people take this nationalism stuff way to seriously, vinny is getting a bad rep for nothing, american trains with brazilians and brazilians train with americans, should munoz have declined to help the spider and nog bros with wrestling, i think not, anderson should have the confidence in knowing he can beat cheal no matter who helps him train, its hardly treason, that being said cheal is going to get a parade back here in the usa if he wins, even if its just me doing the parading.

pretty sure hes been training with shields and prob diaz and there camp which obviously is a great bj camp. Some think shields has prob the best bjj for a american

Anderson and the Nogs werent talking shit about the US. They didnt say shit until sonnen started flapping his gums.

im down for the parade even if its just us lol as i believe he will win, i dont think he gets sub'd this time, been doing training with shields on his bjj so his ground game should be sharp, all this talk bout being injured and blah blah blah the only reason sonnen dominated silva, whats his excuse for getting dropped by sonnen? i just hate excuses when someone gets dominated, i just think the in ur face superior wrestling that chael brings to the table anderson cant handle it. im really suprised silva even took the rematch, all that shit bout people not deserving a rematch and shit, he said it about hendo and was saying it bout chael yet u didnt hear him complain bout it with franklin did ya? I don't see how Anderson is going to stop Sonnens takedowns, but he wont be able to finish the Spide either. I guess this fight will go the same way as the second fight between Sonnen vs Filho did.

When Chael looses its by Sub...I think he just breaks mentally. He better fight alot better then he did against Bisping or this fight doesnt make it out of the 2nd

Chael probably lit a fire under Anderson's ass with the talk of smacking his wife's ass and having her cook him a steak (definitely makes himself sound like a douchey American with statements like that), and all of the other dumb shit he said...and Anderson just knows Chael is the toughest fight out there for him...so he will be ready this time. Chael is getting fucked up.
