| Next HW Title Defense Is Set (Spoiler) With UFC 146 wins, Junior Dos Santos vs. Cain Velasquez II on tap Quote:
After a pair of impressive performances at Saturday night's UFC 146 event, Junior Dos Santos (15-1 MMA, 9-0 UFC) and Cain Velasquez (10-1 MMA, 8-1 UFC) will meet for a second time.
UFC president Dana White confirmed at the evening's post-event press conference that heavyweight champ Dos Santos will likely next face the man that he beat for the belt, Velasquez.
"I think it's a good idea," White told MMAjunkie.com (UFC blog for UFC news, UFC rumors, fighter interviews and event previews/recaps | MMAjunkie.com). "I like it."
A date and location for the event have yet to be determined.

I'm fine with Cain getting the rematch but I wonder who is the matchup for the next title shot.

Just me or are re matches within 1 to 2 fights becoming the next big thing in the UFC?? I'm not bashing on Cain his performance was awesome. But everyone is re matching everyone now a days. Henderson/Edgar, Silva/Belfort, McCall/Johnson, Stout/Fisher 3, I mean who else am I missing? Time to start pushing some up n comers up a notch. Was disappointed in Barboza tonight, thought he could be someone coming up.. Varner just shut that down for awhile.

Cain just looked amazing!! I think the rematch makes sense. If it is not Cain who should receive the title shot? I think it is still early to give Cormier the match, he should win at least one fight in UFC before getting the shot.
I hope Cigano wins again but I think this time it will be much harder than the first time.
If Cigano can avoid the takedown, he is going to win.

Cormier defeated the likes of Barnett, Bigfoot, and Monson in his last 3 fights. I think hes ready for a shot but they've already announced that him and Barnett will have 1 more fight in SF. So what's next after Cain?? They gotta start pushin some guys up.

The match JDs vs Cain will probably happen in October/November, the next HW title match would be probably in march. By that time Overeem will be already available to fight.
So I think the next contender is Overeem, and after him Cormier will have his chance.

Would it be too much to ask if everyone can just stay healthy between now and then?
