| Nelson: I'd love Brock next, but he only wants a fight he can win Nelson: I'd love Brock next, but he only wants a fight he can win Quote:
Roy Nelson, fresh off his stunning KO win over Dave Herman at UFC 146, was a guest on last night's Inside MMA HD Net. The fan favorite had a lot to say about a lot of things:
"You know what? Brock coming back, if he does come back, I would love to welcome him back to the UFC. That was a fight that I actually called him out on ESPN, before. But if they actually make him come back, or if he actually thinks about coming back, he'll probably come back to fight Frank Mir, because I think that's the only fight he thinks he can win. But, you know what? I would love to have that fight with Brock."
"You know, if fans wanted to see it, fighting Mark Hunt would be good. But all you have to do is fight anyone in the UFC and that will give you the next title shot."
"Is that upsetting? No, not really. The way you gotta look at it, you know, Cain fought 'Bigfoot,' and that was the guy I was supposed to fight. So if I woulda fought 'Bigfoot' and won, I woulda got the title shot. That's how it works in MMA."

Nelson seems to have a very high opinion about himself.
Brock would absolutely maul him just like Mir, JDS and Werdum did.
Nelson is a good fighter but he is not a Top 10 and he will never get close to a title shot.

id give roy a decent chance against brock just cause if he landed one overhand on brock it would all be over and his belly naturally deflects power doubles

Nelson is a good fighter but he is not a Top 10 and he will never get close to a title shot. | That sounds very haterish if that's even a word. He hung with the best, and has a chance.at beating Brock on the feet. Does he have a huge chance? Probably a strikers chance, but he isn't gonna get mauled

Though unlikely It'll occur, I'd really like to see this fight. If Brock did maul him I don't think he could neither KO Nelson nor submit him. It would have to go to a decision, providing Brock could avoid the overhand right. Brock's only hope would be a TKO stoppage.

I mean...what is that??
And yes, indeed he has fought some very strong guys but he has been dominated by all of them. He can beat some low-medioum level fighters but not the Top ones.
He has a very strong punch and chin though.

Dana probably wouldn't want to gamble with Brock getting KTFO by Roy Nelson.

Nelson could beat Brock. He has a strong right hand, great grappling and more heart. Has yet to get stopped in the UFC and always keeps swinging.
That said, we should hold our horses before calling out Lesnar. One step at a time buddy.

Brock is coming off a 2 TKO losing streak. Both fights were bonafide ass whippings, too. Brock would be wise to take a fight like that, imo. With Carwin being rumored as next for Cormeir, Silva out for a while, Barnett hurt, no one really interested right now in a Mir/Brock 3, Nelson may be the biggest name available for Brock.

Roy Nelson has been underestimated his entire career yet still finds the ability to prove people wrong. If he ever fights Brock Lesnar, do not count him out.
