I worded that wrong.

What I meant was that he has the right to "milk it" if he wants. A guy like me with a normal service record (one deployment) can "milk it". A guy like Kennedy is a little different then a normal service man/woman.

I meant to say that he can't "milk" the fact that he was a green beret.

I was never offended, but at first I wasn't trying to offend others who have served, just Tim Kennedy. I still don't see how you cam defend him when his main reason for not going back is game of thrones, doesn't that just sound like bullshit?

First off your quoting me talking to mmawolverine not you. As my first post stated unless you have served it's hard to understand the mind set of a soldier and even harder of one who has served in conflict. As Kernel Olie North once said a soldier who has severed 6 months in conflict has seen and dealt with more death and distruction then most will see in their life. So with that I'm going to drop it and not proced any further

Kennedy is the real deal, it's just very rare for a guy to both be a soldier and be somewhat famous. 2 of my best friends growing up went to the army and became green beret's, and both of them are in Afghanistan now. Going through that kind of training really does change guys, they do kind of turn into cocky assholes that don't play well with others (and people wonder why they have such a high unemployment rate?), but the Army does what it takes to turn a regular Joe Schmoe into a killer. Kennedy is definitely "milking it", but combat is basically all he knows.
