TRT is real funny thing and is very broad. Average Male is between 250 and like 800. So when your low, whose opinion is that based off of? the doctor? if so 799 may be low when guys don't even get to that level when on AndroGel who are truly low.
there is stuff out there that can drop your levels of T pretty quick too. Throw that in with drinking alcohol and not having sex for weeks, it can drop pretty good if you have to draw blood the night before the fights if you really wanted to. Plus I wouldn't doubt that Frank or even Chael/Nate/Overeem hadn't thought it through before they injected on how they are going to get it out of their system.
And I know I am a few degrees shy of a masters degree but to me from Franks physical stature, he does NOT need test. When you are low on T, its very difficult to gain and keep muscle.

Ill be the first to admit I dont know everything about TRT. I always thought it was for older guys, especially ones who've competed all their lives. Randy was fighting at what 46, 47? Hendo is 41.....Chael is 35.. and Frank Mir is 33.. Pretty big drop off there in age.
Wait till we see 20 year olds "needing" extra testosterone.
I really think this could get bad enough to become the "black eye" on the sport of MMA that nevers gets overlooked.

Does this have to do with Mir's accident a few years ago? Maybe after he came back, got destroyed he knew something was wrong. His body was so messed up could it have effected his testosterone levels? How long has he been on it?

Wow....Im so happy that JDS destroyed this guy. I thought he was a douche before any of this news, but this just makes me like him even less.

I am glad that JDS kicked his TRT'd ass.
I hope UFC does not become like WWE, where they just suspend the people they want knowing that there are others that also use ilegal stuff.

So is this what we're doing now? Anybody can just go see their doctor, go talk to good old Keith Kizer, and get a TRT exemption? Sad.
Obviously it didn't help Mir very much. He looked fat and out of shape to me. I still think Frank is best at about 245lbs, like when he fought Nog the first time. Not sure if that kind of shape is possible for him anymore, but I hope he goes back to that.

I didn't think it seemed that bad when I heard Couture and Hendo were using it. They're pretty old and I figured if we could watch older fighters perform closer to their prime for longer that seemed pretty cool.
The more common this becomes, especially among younger fighters, the more it bothers me. I hope the athletic commissions or the UFC do something to regulate this quickly, before it gets way out of hand. Its very messed up that Dana says they won't honor prescriptions for medical marijuana but they apparently will let men in their early thirties take testosterone enhancement drugs.

Not sure if that kind of shape is possible for him anymore, but I hope he goes back to that. | What I've heard all along was that some other HW's testosterone levels were close to being over when the when they did the pop drug test that caught Overeem. Now, at this point(if you believe Mir was the one who was close to being over) it would make sense that he stopped whatever he on at this point in his training, which would explain his apparent doughie build and decreased muscular/shredded physique we've started seeing from him since 100.
Personally, when I saw Mir at the weigh-ins the first thing that clicked into my mind was that he'd gone off whatever he was on that caused his quite impressive physical transformation after Overeem got popped, which in turn caused him to go back to something closer to the Mir we saw prior to Brock II, which was alot more bodyfat and less tone.
It's obvious that Mir could've become far more muscular and shredded with less bodyfat and more musclemass to become the fighter he was around the Brock/Kongo/Carwin/Crocop/Nelson fights through sheer hardwork and a different training/nutrition paradigm, however at his relatively young age(33) coupled with the before and after pics pre and post the Lesnar II bout, I've started to hear alot of rumours that lead me to thinking Mir's phyisque may not be on the up n up. The fact that the TUE/TRT stuff is coming out now just adds a little more gas to the rumours of Mir being on something.
IMO, I think Mir saw a new breed of physically superior but technicall inferior HWs in Lesnar and Carwin tearing up the division and decided to even the playing field physically so his skillset could do the talking. For me, I just see alot of redflags that while nowhere near Overeem, feels hinky and less than legit.

not surprising at all.
It was odd when Mir seemed to always try and get away from the subject of trt when he was asked in interviews. He also didnt go after AO, like guys like Nelson and JDS did. He said everyone makes mistakes and didnt really say anything bad about trt.
