It's funny, but I think you're right. He had a close fight with Chael, who a lot of fans have considered invincible and would just run through Bisping. Just that he was able to hang with the guy has increased his worth in so many peoples eyes.

Also, destroying Mayhem in a high-profile fight definitely helped, even though Mayhem has proven to be a dud in the UFC.

The only qualm I have about that fight was that it was only 3 rounds, yet it was a title eliminator.

Ive never seen somebody's stock raise up so much by LOSING a fight haha. However, even before that fight, they put him at #7MW on this forum...so honestly..wtf.

Are you going by the shitty, novice rankings on the top of the screen or the forum rankings?

Only in the Middleweight division could beating 4 guys ranked top 15 get you ranked #6.

This seems like the most logical reason. However I hope it backfires and Sonnen pulls out giving Bisping the fight with AS. Not because I think he deserves the shot I would just find that fight entertaining. And by entertaining I mean a blood bath

I'm going by the forrum rankings. The ones made by Dr.MMA, Rivet, Subdance, etc etc. honestly, they are generally the best rankings I've seen so I give ten allot of weight/credit. However, their placement of Bisping continues to Baffle me. Previously he was ranked #7 on here, now he is ranked #6! How do you gain stock by loosing a fight that wasn't controversial? I just don't understand it.

This is pretty naive talk to be throwing around the ideas of Bisping ducking whoever you want to believe so the "protected boy" can win as easily as possible.

Remind me again how Munoz was so much more skilled and dangerous compared to Sonnen? Hmm, aside from having slightly heavier hands, if Bisping had put on the performance he did against Sonnen, he would have pushed Munoz into cardiac arrest.

The guy has never pulled out of a UFC event before in his entire career, and now because his first time falls at a time where a fighter is pulling out of an event every week, it must be something fishy?

This sucks for the fans because right now, we've had a major rivalry between to veterans in Belfort and Wandy cancelled (possibly never to happen in Wandys career). We've had the All American Brian Stann fall outta a slug fest with a heavy hitter Lombard, and we've had rumours of Silva out of his defence against Chael with a knee injury.

And you would be correct. 4-5 different people's equations into one decent amalgamation, but since Zuffa doesn't base there divisions or matchups off rankings it is inconsequential.
