Hector Lombard didn't stay opponent-less for long. The newly signed UFC middleweight was knocked out of a UFC on FOX 4 main event slot after an injury struck his oppponent Brian Stann. Instead, he's been moved, with the UFC pairing him off with Tim Boetsch in a bout set for UFC 149 in Calgary.

Unfortunately, that bit of good news is offset by yet another injury, as Boetsch was made available after his previously scheduled opponent Michael Bisping withdrew from their proposed bout.

With the change, Lombard's debut will actually be moved up two weeks, as UFC 149 takes place on July 21, while his originally scheduled date at UFC on FOX 4, is set for August 4.

*Bisping withdrew with an injury? Either something is fishy or this is one fucked up string of injuries.

So who does Bisping get? Is the UFC worried about a Silva or Sonnen injury and wants their golden boy to be available?

I Just read this on twitter...but this is most definitely very fishy. It wouldn't surprise me one bit if the UFC told Bisping to fake an injury so they wouldn't be pressured into making Bisping-Lombard. Bisping is coming off another loss so they need him to win a fight or 2 so they can give him a title shot.

This is definitely a more competitive fight than Lombard-Stann, Boetsch can actually keep this fight on the feet and has the chin and power to throw with Lombard...

Oh here we go. Best opponent they could have found to make the most exciting fight, since Stann dropped out. It's back on guys! The Slugfest is back everybody!

All these flipping injuries. I don't assume anything fishy but can't rule out the possibility. Bisping would fit in nicely as an injury replacement to either fighter. If Spider's hurt, then Chael rematches with guy who might have beat him for the chance to fight Anderson. If Chael's hurt, they'll market Bisping as the guy that should have got the decision against Sonnen. Just speaking in hypotheticals, but wasn't Anderson complaining about knee problems?

Not to stir up the conspiracy pot too much, but Bisping just tweeted Kendall Grove on June 5th telling him that he's got a fight with Boetsch on July 21st and that "Anytime u wanna train say the word!:)".....And now Bisping is out of the fight? Not the strangest thing to happen, but a little coincidental no?

I honestly think the UFC protects Bispings as much as they can to ensure a viable UK draw, but truthfully I believe Bisping has the tools to beat Lombard and isn't a fight that I think he'd duck. If anything, I'd think ZUFFA didn't want to have Lombard fight a massive MW with good all around skill and point striking in his debut tilt with the company, seeing as he's one of their biggest signs of the year.

This is a little hinky but I'm 70/30 that it's legit on Bisping's end....
