The UFC middleweight star informed Fighters Only on Thursday evening that he would be going under the knife today to fix the injury, which has caused him to pull out of a UFC 149 meeting with Tim Boetsch.

Bisping did not specify which knee he had torn a meniscus on. “Torn meniscus, operation tomorrow, will be back in [action] quickly though. Just gonna set me back a few weeks,” he wrote.

The meniscus is one of several strips of cartilage that supports the knee, holds it in place and allows it to undertake weight-bearing and flexibility tasks. They are most often injured by way of an excessive twisting movement, particularly while the leg is bent.

Doesn't sound like anything too serious. A couple weeks recovery time is not a long lay off at all. Heal up and we all look forward to seeing you back in the octagon, hopefully taking a beating :grinsmile1:

Best wishes for the future SFL MW champion (because its "profitable" Bisping is thinking about fighting in this organization according to a forbidden site)

This isn't a few weeks recovery for a torn MCL. With Surgery he'll be out for at least 4-6 weeks, just hope he doesn't do anything stupid. I tore mine a month and a half ago.. started doing some stuff a few weeks ago and re injured it. Shit is pretty fragile when vulnerable
