Junior dos Santos Installed as Slight Favorite In Cain Velasquez Rematch

Despite smashing through every opponent placed in front of him in the UFC octagon and crushing Cain Velasquez in their first meeting, Junior dos Santos is only considered a slight favorite to win the rematch between them.

In the first line released on the fight, noted oddsmaker Nick Kalikas installed the reigning UFC heavyweight champion as a -150 favorite over the ex-champ, who is a +120 underdog.



dos Santos (15-1) was also considered a slight favorite in the opening line of their first fight, though just barely, at -125 to Velasquez's -105.

Bigfoot bets: “I see Cigano winning again”

On an interview with TATAME, Antonio “Bigfoot” Silva, defeated by Velasquez on his UFC debut, believes on his friend’s win.



“If he didn’t want to stand-up with me he’s not going to do it with Cigano. I guess Cigano will also be very alert to Velasquez’s takedowns. From where I’m standing, I see Cigano winning again”.



Questioned about a possible confrontation with Frank Mir, defeated that night, Bigfoot guaranteed he won’t have to think twice before accepting the invitation, but says he would fight anyone UFC pairs him up with.



“It would be great. He’s a tough guy, a submitter and at a great position on the rank. Mir is a big name in the UFC, but I’m up to whatever Ultimate decides for me. After my fight I talked to Dana White and said I would fight whoever they thought that was best”.

JDS is only a slight favorite? BS! Well, Im planning on betting my house in favor of JDS for this fight, so this might work good for me

I don't know... if Cain comes out like the Bigfoot fight looking for the TD Cigano will be having some bad times

I still think the rematch is a coin flip. Either fighter has the tools necessary to win any fight in the HW division right now.

I agree. I think this fight will be much closer than the first one.

One thing you have to realize is JDS is very hard to get a hold of. Like when Cain grabbed his leg, JDS got away effortlessly. There is always the option of pulling a Sonnen or Brenneman and just bull rushing and forcing the clinch, but it uses up tons of energy and leaves the fighter open to devastating counters.

I think Cain is determined to get that strap back...He knows what he did wrong in the first fight and he wont' be coming off of a huge layoff this time. I'll take Cain, again.
