The UFC's injury bug has become a bona fide monster.
After a series of injuries forced changes and cancellations to some of the biggest UFC fights of the summer, the organization has lost another.
UFC featherweight champion Jose Aldo (21-1 MMA, 3-0 UFC) is injured out of UFC 149's headliner, and UFC 148's interim-bantamweight title fight between Urijah Faber (26-5 MMA, 2-1 UFC) and Renan Barao (28-1 MMA, 3-0 UFC) has taken the UFC 149 main-event slot.
Man, UFC 148 went from perhaps the greatest card in UFC history to still being an over okay card. I now we get Silva/Sonnen II, but no Cruz v. Faber III, no Bisping, No Franklin, and now no Faber. I guess this is the last I really get my hopes high for a card.
Do these people know how to train without getting injured? The only camp that does a good job avoiding this is the Cesar Gracie camp. I know they are a bunch of weeping babies but at least we have to give them credit for this.
this is a HUGE blow, but come on guys, both the silva/sonnen II and 149 cards still look pretty damn good. if these were the original blueprints, i dont think anyone would complain at all...still, it sucks to see all these fighters dropping like flies.
