| Joey Beltran Returns to Face James Te Huna at UFC on Fuel 4 Joey Beltran Returns to Face James Te Huna at UFC on Fuel 4 | MMAWeekly.com Quote:
A move to a new weight class and an opening at UFC on Fuel 4 have brought Joey Beltran back to the UFC.
The former heavyweight now light heavyweight will meet James Te Huna on July 11 in San Jose as he replaces Brandon Vera, who was pulled from the fight to move over to UFC on Fox 4 to face Mauricio ‘Shogun’ Rua.
Beltran made the announcement via his Twitter account on Monday.
“Back in the UFC vs. James Te Huna July 11. Let’s do this!” wrote Beltran.
The California based fighter was always known for his toughness inside the Octagon, but just couldn’t string together consecutive wins after winning his first two fights in the UFC in 2010.
Over his last five fights, Beltran went 1-4 and was released, but following his last loss he decided to make the move down to 205lbs and see how light heavyweight treated him instead.
Beltran picked up a win over Anton Talamantes back in April and will now get the chance to return to the UFC to face James Te Huna at UFC on Fuel 4 coming up in July.

Te Huna is going to smoke him...Joey just does not have the power to trade with him. Of coarse, it's his first fight in the UFC at 205 and he had been fighting HWs, but I still don't see him matching the power of Te Huna, who is also a cleaner striker and better wrestler.

It's hard not to be a Beltran fan and now the guy has upped his dedication to being a top fighter or at least to fullfill his potential. Too bad the Hamburglar won't do the same.
