It wouldn't be the first time they relegated a good fighter to the prelims. They did the same thing to Andrei Arlovski in his last UFC bout at UFC 82 after he chose to pursue other contracts rather than renew his with the UFC - even though they were paying him 100k to show

I think it's really strange that Hioki/Lamas is on the undercard while Pearson/Swanson is on the main card, especially since Lamas is coming off of a nice win over Swanson and Pearson only has 1 fight at FW. It definitely must be a punishment from Zuffa brass, especially since they had to bump Koch up to the #1 contender spot which was basically a wtf moment for most fans. Hioki/Aldo was much more logical, and it's not very common for guys to turn down title shots.
